Now hear me out before you all bash me to bits. I know majority of ICP Fans will all agree that the original deck of Jokers cards was their absolute best work and all those albums have a nostalgic connection to the Juggalos. I have also enjoyed a lot of their newer work however nothing compares to the original deck. Every juggalo has their favorite album of the first deck, for me it’s the Mighty Riddlebox.
I am sure no other artist would ever try this BUT ICP is not like any other artists. They have become millionaires without Hollywoods blessing. They are not only two of my favorite rappers but also pretty smart business men. ICP has always been more about theater than lyrical skill. The reason I can enjoy an ICP album more than a Twiztid/Hopsin/Tech9 album even though all those artists are better “rappers” is quite simple. ICP is better at telling stories. They are more about drama/theater/production and that simply is more fun and appeals to me.
In my opinion (and I’m only speaking for myself) I think ICP is starting to run out of steam a little. I have not really seen the same level of excitement for a new ICP album from the fans in a long time. Now let me ask you this… Whatever your favorite album is from the first deck…. would you be excited if they decided to make the sequel to that album? I know if I heard they were making a RiddleBox 2 I would be so excited and looking for news on it everyday. Again I realize most artists may find this cheesy or hack but think about it, would you like the sequel album to your favorite Jokers card?? Carnival of Carnage part 2? The Great Milenko 2 The Ringmaster 2… They don’t even have to go in order. It would be really fun and exciting to skip around and have the fans of each album hoping and waiting for the sequel to their favorite Jokers card.
I just think if everyone else can remake a movie or a show and call it a “Reimagining” or have a million sequels to a movie then why can’t artists remake albums or make sequels to albums? Hell Jerry Seinfield has toured and done the same fucking jokes for decades. I think artists like ICP who are more theater could absolutely market the hell out of this idea and get the Juggalos truly excited and pumped for 1 last great deck to finally end the saga. They can really embrace each album and try to make it truly have that feel of the original album while still adding new fresh things to the jokers card. I want a song about the Cemetery lady guy who is now in a mental institution and daydreaming about his love still. What is the “dead body man” up to?? They have so much awesome material that they can work with and make truly sick sequels to all of our favorite albums while exciting the fuck out of the fanbase and i’m sure selling more albums then just continuing doing what they are doing now.
Even if this was just a marketing ploy and the sequels sucked they would still sell more however I truly think ICP would be reinvented and excited to recreate these ideas and would truly kill it and give us some albums that we would adore for years to come. Anyway sorry for the novel I just had this idea for a while and was curious what you guys would say! Peace everyone

I would have to say no. It would sort of taint the previous titles.
However; if they made “sideshow” EPs that coincide with previous cards that would be dope.
Some shit like “Milenko’s (insert title here)”. Where they would do 4 songs or some shit with the sound, themes, and whatnot of prevous albums. That could be neat.
Honestly though, I just want NEW shit. I still feel like ICP can capture those vibes of the past. Bang! Pow! Boom!, Death Pop, and even the Missing Link are classics to me now. Difference is, I only like a handfull of songs on the new cards, where their past catalog I enjoyed almost every track fully.

All good guys! I respectfully disagree but that’s just what would really get me excited again. Whoop Whoo
how would they do it? have that classic sound but modern day rapping?
maybe every joker cards has had kids and their passing the torch?
maybe we can hear new tales from the joker cards seniors?
maybe they actually form a gang?
maybe a joker cards royal rumble?
og joker cards vs. new school joker cards (even though the new ones are a complete insult and I don’t even consider them joker cards
ok so I’m obviously not serious only thing that would be fresh is if they just rap over the og beats
old school production with new school sounds best of both worlds!
your welcome for the idea

In a lot of ways though, isn’t each joker’s card a sequel to the last one? Like, they’re all continuing on the themes and mythology set up in the last card. I suppose you could say that BBP wasn’t a sequel but rather the start of a new series. and tempest is a “sequel” to the calm..or you could say that the calm was a prelude to the tempest but whatever.

hmmmm I don’t think so. J always said he doesn’t really “think” of these ideas they just come to him in dreams or whatever. I don’t think each follow up album is really a sequel to the previous album. I know sometimes they do follow up songs such as still stabbin or may make a reference to an album or song.
As far as how would they do it? Good question lol I am not sure. I know they would have to completely submerge them self in the atmosphere of the album they are creating the sequel for. For instance if they were doing a Great Milenko 2 I would like to hear an update to under the moon. Is the dude still in jail? Still obsessing over that chick? Did he get out and try to kill her new husband/bf. Each album has so much cool shit on it that if they create new dope beats that are similar and work off those ideas I know for myself i’d absolutely love that shit. I can’t speak for ICP but I would bet since they are proud as fuck of those albums getting to revisit that stuff and create new content would have to be pretty awesome and easy to get hyped about. Again this is just an idea that I know i’d love but from looking at this thread not too many other like it.

I think juggalos running out of steam and going to the internet is different from ICP running out of steam.
They have been pretty active since lost.
But i think what they did for the Riddle Box is enough.
Give me some “lost tracks” some more art some dope packaging if u want remaster it and like a tour or something.
YOU KNOW THEY AINT NO SUCH THING AS LEFTOVER CRACK!!!- Leftover Crack

I dig the fuck outta that idea! I’m down with it, anything is better than Found and MDP….
You all know (most) if J said they are making a Riddle Box 2 or whatever that Juggalos would be doing fuckin back flips and head butting faces. There not stupid, they know what we like and what we want…
ICP could come back uber hard whenever they want to. All J has to say is were going to make an album sounding like the old shit, going back to our roots. Have Esham on a couple tracks. Have the new cover look like Beverly Kills, not the exact same but that same style. People would eat it ALIVE!!! And if said album really did sound like the old school ICP with J’s pitched vocals and dark beats….it would absoutley explode and sky rocket ICP back to the top.
Buuuuut this will never happen so…..fuck it. Who cares. Its fun to daydream about it tho…..

speaking personally, i dont really pay much attention to that sort of hype.

You are speaking 100% truth. I also pay zero mind to that as well. You can only hear that so many times until its just like…”yup time to hype the new shit, so this is what they say”.

its crazy you think that way.. cuz i feel Found is the closest thing to to the 90’s stuff theyve put out since then and it skyrocketed my appreciation of them back to where it was before it started to dip in the early 2010’s.. Sure, Found is a lot less dark than the 90’s stuff but its what the 6th shouldve been, imo.. plus bizzar/bizaar was already brightening things up so it wasnt just dark shit back then…
also i think ninjas would be wary of a riddlebox 2 not being able to live up to its predecessor..

I agree that ICP is great live theater; when Shaggy was dragged on stage in a cage at Hogrock, it changed my life. Your sentimental approach is sweet; I hope for more evolution from the Joker’s Cards than a where are they now, Behind the Music take on the players. And everybody knows the dead body man is pimping fetus parts from Planned Parenthood’s warehouse. Have u heard DJ Clay’s new stuff? It’s retro & new at the same time:

Completely agree with not being able to live up to its predecessor.. I get that for sure.
To me imo, Found is just so fuckin embarrassing dude. Lost was cool/meh. But funny thing with Found, ok, so (like we all do) I was introducing my wife to ICP/wicked shit (mind you she’s black from Georgia) She really likes everything I play for her, not just being nice either but really likes it. Her birthday is actually Halloween, anyway, Found drops and were bumpin’ it and by song 4 she’s looking at me like the fuck is this??? And Im just like babe there not always this bad and corny I promise. It was just so embarrassing. To me its literally music 11 year olds listen to….Im serious. I couldnt stand it….but thats just my taste. To me there is nothing 90’s ICP about Found. But I also hate being that old dude bashing the new shit. Some of it I really really like, but most of it just really is not for me thats all.

the only kid/pop song to me is “juggalo party”.. lets not pretend like ALL girlfriends dont hate sugar slam and she’s killin it 4 songs in.. get clowned, lost at the carnival, midway, and fucked a cop are classic modern icp at its best.. while found, ok, white suit, world is yours, and time is some inspiring/deep/REAL hip hop like their albums always end with, theyre just generally positive to the 10th degree this time, haha.. which was the album concept.. but yeah if youre generally not feelin’ the new shit i can see how that pattern could continue with this project, especially if youre looking for something specific/different than it..

lately ive been thinkin that carnival of carnage should of been really named The Dark Carnival. but i think VJ came up with the dark carnival afterwards. i think it would of been more suiting of a name for the 1st jokers card, and that the 5 afterwards were spirits of TDC.
and going along with this thread if they did EPs or a sequel or something along those lines TDC would have to be a must. i was thinking that maybe they should drop and album called The Dark Carnival, then do a 3 or 4 disc album afterwards called The Spirits Of The Dark Carnival and break the discs down like how tech n9ne does albums with “sections”…or they could just make a box set called The Spirits Of The Dark Carnival and create new era tracks for EVERY jokers card they have made, maybe after the 2nd deck has fully been dropped, or have 2 seperate editions…the 1st deck and the second deck…or the 1st and 2nd generation of spirits.
there is a ton mores ways they could go about it…i guess i just think it would be really fresh to have an album that actually is about all the spirits/jokers cards that have been dropped…i kinda dig the reboot idea to a certain degree cuz i think they would actually skool the fuck outta that idea trying to make new songs for past albums…but im not down for shit like version 2.0 type songs
