I hated the tempest and would not be down for this in theory

But honestly whatever they do I’m down with checking it out and judging by it’s own merits

yeah, everybody hates the tempest, i know.  im startin to think that literally nobody out there likes the album more than i do.

But honestly whatever they do I’m down with checking it out and judging by it’s own merits

oh, well, if honesty is the way were goin, here…  the last thing i want them to do is anything 2.0.  i generally dont need a do-over, and when theyve done em, they generally werent reeeally worth re-fuckin with, in the end.

besides, everybody got different ideas about what made whichever album work.  that includes icp.  they would think they were ‘recapturing the magic of the tempest’ or whatever, but that doesnt mean i would.  maybe, maybe no maybe.

instead of the tempest, the reader can substitute any album they happen to like.  since the reader probably hates the tempest.

I would be down for a carnage 2.0 but that’s it. On the minds playing tricks on me cover when j starts with showed up at your high school prom… I got a little fist bumpy but you’re most likely right. If they did redo it, I would probably be mad they didn’t do it like i been imagining.

Eye of the Storm > The Tempest

Thrill of the kill is one of the best songs ICP has made in years Imo

ICP lately have been trying to fix something that really was not broke. Let that “Chopper” style alone and get back to great story telling/Concept songs.

The thing is ICP have a problem with consistency. I feel like any style they do, they’ll have some great results and some terrible ones. It started with the turn of the millennium and the ratio has been gradually getting worse, meaning there are more and more bad results and less and less good ones (but every once in a while they do still hit the nail on its head). It’s the same with the chopper flow: Cuss Words turned out pretty shitty. But Shaggy also uses the chopper style for his verse in the Juggalo Love Psypher and that turned awesome. IMO, anyway.

cuss words (mike e. clarks unplugged thuggery mix) surfaced on youtube:

Only the Chorus seemed to work on that song, for me at least.

Examples of ICP/Mike Clark “Unplugged” production that does work…

and..

Now the only thing that differentiates the new song from these two are J and Shaggs flow and concept. The chopper shit is really a no go fellas. They used to keep up with the times by making songs that were hot button issues to each cards era like “To Catch a Predator” and “The Blasta”. On FFF why not make a song about Gun violence in schools,The FBI thing or Feminism, these are the topics at the forefront of this era but, using the same old flow we all love instead of this double time attempt. They always said in interviews “You can never be new again.” OK, take you’re own advice. At shows its mainly 1st and 2nd Generation Juggalos so, why cater to the FAM kids then? Let Lyte and Quija do that and stick to the fundamentals of your brand. Its not that hard.

Rob or J are seriously shooting themselves in the foot with this shit.

That sir, is the million dollar question. BPB and TMDP never released any singles before release, other than a video, so its most likely not to appear on it.

Here’s to hoping though.

well when i seen bpb and mdp i actually liked the covers, and I dig the cover for FFF too. I thought it would get back to the carnival sound, but I was mistaken. I can personally see something like hair up and bleep being on FFF just to piss everyone off. It’s pretty obvious that MEC has no intentions on bringing back what everyone fell in love with in the first place. house of wax was alright as an EP but even the beats on there were meh.

Mdp was somewhat a step in the right direction, I can’t put my finger on what it is that makes mike’s beats different as compared to the original 6. i guess they just sound way too overproduced. I liked that rough gritty feel in which the first 5 had. you’d think by now all of the money icp and clark has made that they would have high quality sounds that would be dope. for me, alot of mikes beats are the drums and bass that sound weak. the vocal mixing has always been spot on with mike, idk, I need to hear a track off of FFF to even get hype. If he’s working on Ouija’s album I feel like ouija’s sound is what FFF should sound like, but it won’t.

even his guitar work is very poor now. where’s the stuff like ajb? i miss the old mike

Esham should produce a card. his beats atleast still stay true to the genre, he’s always doing new sounding beats that are diff from the last but atleast they have that old school touch to it, his drums are always fire too.
