I’m sure anyone who used to go onto ICP’s website in the late 90’s and early 2000’s remembers all the cool shit that was on there. First there was The Shaggy Show, which was basically ICP carrying around Sony Handicams and recording tour bus footage and dumbass skits/sketches. There were some great gems, like this one:
Violent J’s Dance Boogie Marathon – The Shaggy Show
Then, there was the “Weekly Freekly Weekly,” which used to be updated by Violent J personally, and sometimes Shaggy (I think). This then evolved into a video series that was pretty benign, but at least it had some funny moments:
Weekly Freekly Weekly – Aug 2006
The reason I bring up this topic is this: why in the motherloving fuck do ICP not do stuff like this nowadays? So they used to have cool online content for the fans, back when the Internet and streaming video was not even popular, and now that its fucking easy as shit to make and post videos, why is there not a team of people at Psychopathic working on shit like this? With all of the technology advancements, ICP could literally shoot music videos on phones for fuck’s sake, so you’d think that they would think “Hmm, we should bring back The Shaggy Show, or create something similar, bring back that old school flavor.” But no, because of J and Jumpsteady’s faggot ass irrational hatred of the Internet, they barely even have an online presence at all. I truly cannot believe that J does not have the foresight to hire a small team of people at Psy to keep a heavy social media presence going, as well as to shoot/post video content. Skits, studio footage, J and Shaggy saying stupid shit, what the fuck ever. It just seems like a huge void in their marketing strategy that they have no interest in filling.

Back in the late 90s and early 00s they were working with a major label and had a ton of money.
Now they are on their own and their money is tied up in gotj and touring and albums.
They don’t have the money to hire a PR person. That’s why they let jwebb go and why kg ain’t around.
But they have a biweekly web series and other shows their channel hosts. They do infomercials. J shares content on twitter and fb and insta. A mobile phone game just came out.
They’re old and the web ain’t really their thing. They’re gen x. Their fans are gen x, millennial, and teenagers.
They need to let ouija run their web content. He does it naturally. Shit’s fun.
If you really believed that all lives matter we wouldn't need to say black lives matter

That’s what I’m saying. Whether its him, or someone they bring in specifically for web/social media work, its appalling that no one at the company has said “We need to seriously beef up our web presence if we’re going to stay even somewhat relevant.” I mean, fuck, I’m not a social media user whatsoever, but at the same time if I were running a business, I’d make time for it. I don’t think its necessarily because they’re older, I think its because J and Jumpsteady are technophobic as fuck and have stated as such several times.
