Last night was game night. I’m checking twitter while the others are getting the board set up.

Me: Huh. Twitter Juggalos are going bananas on Blahzay Roze. (I hadn’t actually seen the post yet)

Juggalette: Oh great, what kind of shit does the internet have to talk now?

That said, the whole thing is fucking stupid. For better or worse, it’s the Juggalo right to talk shit. A cherished pasttime even. But I loathe “x isn’t Juggalo cuz y” gatekeeping, no matter whose doing it. And she does it a lot, usually with an unhealthy splash of militant Violent J cultism.

It’s a shame because I’ve been an outspoken Blahzay Roze supporter, and the only thing that’s been changing my mind as of late has been interacting with her. I’ve caught her a couple times saying shit that’s inaccurate, if not flat-out wrong, clearly biased and worse, hypocritical. Gatekeeping is bad enough, doing it from a position of ignorance is inexcusable. It’s totally fine to be Team Psy all the way, even better to represent for Juggalos, but don’t speak as an authority to others on something if you don’t understand what the fuck you’re talking about.

Although I have to say I’m thoroughly amused by the fact that, in 2018, the rappers are behaving as silly and petty on the internet as the fans have since the early oughts. That tickles me to no end.
