Lyrically?  I don't know, J usually does the more cerebral lyrics, but sometimes Shaggy shines.  His verse on Coagulate was pretty good.  I really like how well he performed the verse on Ol' Evil Eye, but that song, although awesome, wasn't much to speak for lyrically.  I think off the top of my head, I'd have to say Coagulate from the fourth Lotus.  

I remember when I first started listening, I got confused and thought J was Shaggy and I told my friends that Shaggy was my favorite because of his lyrics, so then I felt retarded when I realized that it was J.  Also realized later that J probably wrote almost everything anyway.

Man, Shaggs was ON POINT on this one! Probably my favorite song from that whole era.

My pick would probably be The Staleness. I mean I guess we all assume J wrote it but still, that first verse is one of the funniest verses ever and he delivered it with such intensity and great comedic timing.

Bonus: 2 verses of his that took me by surprise, not because of the lyrical content but rather because of the delivery:

· his Kickin Kickin verse. I do not care for that song. Don't like the hook, boring concept, J sounds uninspired, I even dislike the beat. But then Shaggy comes on and completely turns it around for me. I have never heard him flow like that. He stole the show and even made me enjoy the beat for those ~30 seconds.

· Morbid by DL. When I first heard the song I didn't even recognize right away that that was Shaggy. That slow flow and deep voice.. again, never heard him rap like that. Also suits the song concept and beat perfectly. Real morbid. Killed it. Still gives me goosebumps sometimes actually.

I always liked his verse on She Said. I don't know if its his best but its one of my favorites.

His verse and delivery on Let a Killa from Bizaar(or Bizzar the eyeball one) was dope too.

Also, good stuff on "I'm Sweet" and "Wicked Rappers Delight". Just good imagery and fine touches. 

I love the subtle yet emotional delivery of this in the former:

Makes me think of both being inside and friends that have and still are inside. Some of us didnt do shit to deserve that loss of time treatment.
