Does anyone hate security barricades at shows as much as me? i can't stand them…they kill a lot of the fun of a clown show for me since i like to stage dive. it's already enough that they have security on both sides of the stage to keep things in order. does anyone know if it's the artist's or the venue's decision to use a barricade? i've heard it's the artists choice, which if so that makes me question why they're so adamant about security being there.

the show in june at the emerald theater in mt clemens was off the chain cuz there was no barricade. just wish it happened more often

If there were no barricade ninjas would stom the stage and destroy all of ICPs stage props. This happened ALL THE TIME back in the 90’s. So now there is always barricades at clown shows.

i dont care for barricades, but they dont bug me all that much.  i usually move around a lot during shows, so ill only be at the front once in a while.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

Did anyone go see the Old Shit Tour a few years ago?  Before the tour started, I read that for that tour, venues were supposed to be barricade-free, to make it like the old days.

yeah unfortunately the whole “no-barricade” thing for that tour was a load of shit. i think there were one or two shows i saw pictures from that didn't have one, but i went to 5 shows on that tour and there was a barricade every time.

I noticed the video was talking about stage diving.  Does Shaggy even stage dive anymore.  I know he use to here and there, and J use to alot when he wasnt so big.

lol @ bitching about barricades…they have them because a) like ppl said above their stage props n shit would get fucked up by people and b) too many hound dogs wanna jump onstage and get hugs and daps from them n shit while they're in the middle of performing…u know how annoying it is for an artist to be onstage and have their whole set down as to what they want to do and some drunk asshole hops onstage running up on you wanting a hug n shit…IMO if you can't respect the performance you should get chin checked…that's not saying there aren't those folks who just like to jump onstage to stage dive really quick and aren't trying to get 5 minutes of bonding with the members of ICP lol

I remember seeing a video from this Wiz Khalifa show a few years ago where dude got onstage somehow and was walking towards Wiz like he wanted to dap him…dude got TAKEN OUT by Wiz's big ass security guard in about 2 seconds…even if all he wanted was a dap as someone who can be considered a celebrity or popular individual you always have the risk of crazies trying to hurt you/kill you

Security is also there to keep everyone safe. Things can get rowdy at ICP shows and if somebody gets hurt in the crowd then it's good to have security get them out safely. I went to The Old Shit in Oklahoma City and there was no barricade. I got on stage like 8 times haha. It was awesome. When you get close to the front everyone on stage is holding their arms out to help you up. I poured a Faygo on Shaggy and gave Violent J a dap. Idk if they were cool with all that or not but fuck it, that's what they get for letting people on stage haha. They didn't seem pissed. Also Violent J crowd surfed on the Shangri-La tour in Tulsa. He even wrote about it on the Weekly Freekly the next day, saying that he thought the cyclone of Juggalos was going to take him away. Memories.

I really think its the artist that says they want barracades. I saw ICP on the Bang Pow Boom tour at the White Rabbit in San Antonio and they had em and they made the dance floor a lot smaller but they also set up an extra stage piece. Usually they dont have them. And i remember a staff saying it was at the artists request. I saw Twiztid at the same spot on the End of Days tour and no barricade. So i almost certain that its the artist. Either way its all fun.

I just remember them or Twiztid at one point saying they don't like that shit…said if u wanna get onstage just to jump off right quick that's cool but to try and dap em or hug em or w/e the fuck messes them up when their rapping and distracts them….I'm sure if u do dap em they aren't gonna freak out like J would back in the day when he was off his shit but I'm just saying as someone who performs live myself from time to time (rapping) it can be distracting when random ppl are jumping onstage and trying to hang onto u and grab the mic n shout out shit out…once again not saying everyone who likes to get onstage to dive off and whatnot does that type of shit but some ppl are like that…some artists are cool about it and others aren't so cool about it

Last October at the Hallowicked tour in Columbus, some guy crowd surfed, and after the security guard pull him over the barricade and turned away, the guy got on stage and started jumping around  right in Shaggy's face, throwinig his hands up and shit.  Shaggy put  his arm out to him trying to push him away while he was rapping.  he had that look, like come on dude, back up a lil, show some respect, Im trying to perform.  Then wicked clown dancers finally grabbed him and pulled him back stage.  Then he did it again during Faygo Armageddon.

I can't remember the year, but one year at Hallowciked, about 500 Juggalos stormed the stage about halfway through ICP's set.  They didnt get to finish their set, and everything got destroyed.  I would of been pissed.  Some people drive a long way and spend good money to make it to Hallowicked. Psychopathic wrote an article about it and said ICP even had some new songs they were gonna play.
