so, rather than type all this out at once, i figured i would just dribble stuff out as it occurs to me, cuz the forum has an annoyin habit of droppin posts that take too long to compose.
lessee… first off, road conditions were fairly crappish. it was cold as bitches, icing up everywhere, and just to put a cherry on it, it snowed a bit while we were all inside.
out of deference to other peoples’ obligations and restrictions, im not gonna get into who all i ran into just yet. although, itll be somewhat obvious that scottied was in the mufuckin house, so theres that.
xmas present game: roll three giant price-is-right dice, add em up, consult chart, get prize. simple, yeah?
nah. odds were not well worked out. prize tiers were a bit haphazard.
i did, however, manage to win… a bic lighter. as if i didnt have three in my pockets already. that was a level two prize. i actually asked if i could just trade down and scoop up a level one prize, cuz what the hell a smoker like me need free lighters for. the kid was like, ‘no, gotta stay in your level’. he did not offer reasons as to why.
believe the top prize was a one-off violent j baseball jersey. believe somebody won it, too. which means that anybody after them that managed to roll three boxcars was assed out.

okay, lets talk about the concerts and wrestling matches leading up to icp…!
shrug.
consult youtube, apparently.
while the early shit was going down, i was primarily engaged in a hella entertaining game of into the echoside with luis and jumpsteady [teamed together, mind you]. they had a thing goin where they were,as jump put it, ‘takin on all comers’. if you somehow managed to defeat the game creators, the rewards were the big mortons list watch, or charm.
i had a partner, as well. im actually having a tiny panic attack right now, cuz i cant remember his fuckin name, and i feel like a dickhead for it. [if youre readin this, holmes, please tell me your name. and sorry bout that.] [and for the record, i forget names sooooo easily. faces, not so much, but names… yeah. codenames help.]
obviously, jump and louis won. by a good thirty points. but me? i put up nineteen. this is by far the worst score i have ever gotten in the game, even when playin against my own self.
my partner had never played before. ever. this is a considerable handicap, when playing the against worlds two best. so, i figured we had no chance if i didnt feed him good cards early on [it barely helped]. so, in effect, my partner had half of my points. now, im not tryin to make excuses here. we got our clocks cleaned out, handicaps only affected how far the rubble flew.
after that, they went through several more games with real, planned teams. they fared better, but not much.
i really, really, really wanna get a learned crew together, and face them again. at the con would be ideal, if i can be there.
also got to have a closeup test of the new expansion shit, which looks promising. i didnt sign the sheet, though, so i will not be credited as a playtester. which is fine with me.

merch was afire all night. lotta neat shit. lots.
and what did scruffy get? the fresh-as-fuck camouflage hoodie with the beamin gold hatchetman? maybe a set of xmasified joker face t-shirts, like the killer red and green ringmaster? or perhaps the new 7 inch vinyl of the classic icp xmas ep?
no, i copped… a death pop flag. for a fin. and killjoy club, finally.
did pick up that steve miller book, though. lookin forward to reading that.
i did not get any merch from anybody else. another thing i kinda feel like a dick about. i know, casually or well, pretty much everybody on the underground, juggalo-ish music scene in stl, and i generally make it a point to spend a few bucks on the ones i like. not yesterday. sorry, guys.
as i alluded to earlier, i didnt see much of their sets, either. fell a small bit bad about that, too. i tried to jump over and take pictures and wave my hands in the air like i just didnt care, for a minute, here and there.

two more things, real quick.
1 – yeah, i took various pictures, im sure most of em suck, and havent looked at any of em.
b – more important than that:
if you were in the house for ballas, and happen to either be a member, or are maybe about to become a member, feel free to login and throw your thoughts and stories and pictures and corrections of my inaccuracies all over the thread. i expect there were many who have more to say than i do.
i talked to three or four people who said they like flh and had thought about join the forum.
eh, one more thing, real quicker, cuz fuggit.
i thought i had finally given out the last of the flh ‘hat’pins last night, but when i got home, i found two more.
oh, hell. ill just add another bit. i doubt ill get penalized for it.
when i say ‘last night’, mostly i mean, ‘oh-dark-thirty this morning’. shit ran waaaay late. clowns came on at like one.

here, have some more stupid points [was i sposed to be puttin bullets on these…? oh, right, fuck the formatting.]:
no drama. at least, i witnessed none. noticed a guy gettin tossed out the easy way, dunno why. he was bitchin n shit, naturally, but he was goin easy, so thats his silver lining, i guess.
again, touchin on the names and faces thing: met a few people who ive met before. met a few who i hadnt met before, but thought at first that i had. met a few people who have met me, but im not sure, even now, if i have met them.
i think i met myself at one point.
had a couple double jamesons, which is roughly typical for me at a show. so, was not drunk by any means [smoked, of course].
shit, had i been drunk, idve just been callin everybody nicknames that i made up for em on the spot, and i wouldnt be mentioning it now, cuz id be even more confused about who was who.
i also surely wouldve died on the way home.
speakin of drinks: tip people, ninjas. like, actually give the staff a tip every single time you have em do something. unless they fuck you up somehow, tip em. aside from bein the cool thing to do, it matters in the grand sense.
speakin of tippin: last few years ive had this thing where, after a great show, i gotta go up to the people responsible and say thank you. any of em. could be the stage goons, or the merch drone, or shaggy 2 dope. just go up real quick, give em a dap or a pound or a thumbs up or a salute, and say, ‘thank you.’
i think this should be a thing, honestly. meanin, we should all do this after great shows. no life story, or posin for pictures, or angling for t-shirt hookups, or spazzy houndoggin. just ‘thank you.’

im guessin i should mention icp, huh?
pretty good stuff.
its real, real, real weird seein icp without faygo flying. i didnt catch js solo set thingy, but i caught shaggys solo tour back whenever, and even that was kinda weird.
that said, its also kinda cool. now, im not sayin they should do this all the time, or even once in a while, or for that matter ever again. but it was actually nifty the way the non-spectacle of the icp set was consequently even more personal.
by non-spectacle, i mean, non-spectacle. there was a few humble stage props, mostly there to have sumn to look at all night. icp set was kicked from the wrestling ring. no clowns with flags n confetti, nuffin. what flashiness there was [all night] mostly came from us, the crowd. ill get back to this later, but not a lot of people were there for a concert; most were there for an xmas party.
the various songs they busted out were a fun mix, in the main. i listed out what i can recall in the other thread that wigglefarmer started, but countin em up i get 17, so id expect thats all of em.
i thought mr happy, we belong, shiny diamonds and yellow bus were all nice touches, as far as left field shit to throw out at us. in addition to the obvious xmas songs.
santa killas is a fuckin frrresh song to jump around to. i wasnt even thinkin they would play it, song is a lil obscure. fuck, you could tell that many in the crowd didnt know it, which was hilarious. one of the simplest crowd choruses in icp history, and still people were shrugging. i mean, cmon… three words? you should pick that one up easily.
more dumb bullet points, to try to save a post.
i didnt even realize that blahzay had performed. i was told she had a short set, which makes sense, since shes got like four or five songs. not that i would know; the shit she dropped on us during icp coulda been brand new shit, or from the ep, either way i wouldnt recognize. she did good with that, uh, minute or so? of stage time.
gogetem is actually damned cool live, given that it was only abk and hoodoo. works nicely like that, in my opinion.
hoodoo bein there at all was a nice touch, too. im a fan, i dig hexed live.
im not botherin to go back and clean up typos n shit, you may have noted. zcuz at some point im goin to fall asleep, and i wanna try to write out whatever i can before that. uh, even though its already a large collection.

So nobody else went to this show?
There were probably 300 people there. Pretty light turnout but I’d guess that it was because of the weather.
I was glad that they removed the ropes on the wrestling ring during ICP’s set!
Another nice touch was that merch was mad cheap (in comparison to their regular tour date prices)! $15 for shirts, $50 hoodies, even a $75 Riddlebox jacket. I don’t know if i’ll get around to writing a full review, but just know that it was a great time! Seeing ICP without the Faygo flying was a cool change, but I echo @scruffy ‘s sentiments in that it shouldn’t change to that permanently…not by any means. I was thankful for not being soaked when walking back to our vehicle while it was icy and -5 degrees. lol.

How late did you stay at Pop’s @scruffy ?
think it was 0230 or so when i crossed the river. sumn like that.
Anything interesting happen after we left (shortly after ICP)?
yeah, sure, but nothin real amazing. chattin with various non-minors that were still around. hangin out.
We had a 5 year old in tow so they made us bounce. lol.
i should add that gettin to meet him was another highlight for me.
was funny at first, cuz he kinda looked at me like i was a hungry dinosaur.
spose ill wind down my part of the storytelling.
summation, whole thing was the shiz. shows were neat, what i saw of em. wrestling was neat, what i saw of it. kickin it with bunches of juggalos was extra neat. as is more and more common these days, none of my close circle attended, but there were a few road dogs there that im always geeked to see.
like i mentioned before, the thing was a big juggalo xmas party, as opposed to a concert. the whole vibe was more easygoing and casual. a lil bit gathering-like.
super highlight was just sittin around havin fun with jumpsteady, who is a personal hero, and louis, who i never met before but now know is a cool ninja.
super lowlight was the weather bein a punk. but whattyagonnado?
guess ive about said enough. could post some pictures, but they mostly wouldnt be, like, news photo-looking pictures.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

Sounds like it was a great show! I didn’t make it because of the weather. Wasn’t sure if roads were going to freeze and ice over like they did Friday. I never miss a show at Pops.
wack, but i cant fault you at all. shits werent the worst ive ever seen, but still fairly fucked up.
Did you get any pics of the merch booth by chance?
not i, but i know pictures were taken, so id expect theyre in the interweb somewhere.

I gotta know, while playing jump in echoside, does he stare you (as his opponent) down with a menacing look that eats at the inner fibers of your soul?
I can kinda picture it lol
not really, although if he did, i bet it would be effective. even against my ‘soul’.
he mostly seemed to study the situation, and plan out how the next four turns were gonna go down. i was that far behind.
pro tip: when playin teams with a rookie partner, make very sure he buys cards for you, not the other way around.
