like demonic said, alex screwed them outta millions when he left psychopathic (J discusses it in there opie&anthony interview) so theres no chance of him returning, if he ever wanted to, which he wouldnt…so…
alex doesn’t have shit to do w/the quality/state of psychopathic/icp…there rise&fall has a pretty clear correlation w/the state of icp’s music.they were @ their peak when the music was.milenko/jeckel bros was when they had it firing on all cylinders, when your music gets significantly weaker as you get significantly older (especially if you wear clown make-up & put on immense weight) you cannot expect the same success/fanbase.
I honestly think the LABEL was better during the beginning of the family area. Shangri-La and Hells Pit era, all of the artists were putting out high quality music. Colton Grundy, green book, wizard of the hood, etc etc.
That’s only my opinion though.
Sad but true my friend. We will never see that type of output from PSY again.

Now see, to me, those days things were already starting to get stale, in some ways, more so then than now. I was never a huge fan of Blaze (at least not as a solo artist, to me he sounds much better when he’s got other people in the song), didn’t care for ABK’s music one bit (he’s a cool dude but just being cool doesn’t make you a good musician) and I felt like during that point in time Twiztid was becoming twisted (pun intended lol) by Tom Dubb which was creating drama on the label (then of course Tom Dubb stole all of Twiztid’s money to start Majik Records and then disappeared like a fart in the wind). As far as the juggalos in that era, there were obviously a lot more, and all those who are gone now were obviously fake. Being a juggalo before Milenko and the Hollywood bullshit was A LOT more like family than it ever was during the “family” era. Now with ICP not being as big anymore it’s getting back more so to how it used to be.

i get what you are saying, I was never big into blaze or ABK either (although both cool dudes, just dont care for their music)
but I can see why one would look at that period as the begining of the end. they were at their peak in the mainstream, they were BEGGING to get on TRL (dont let them fool you and say they never wanted MTV, they did, and they tried hard. anyone remember the term? what was it ray day or something like that where they wanted everyone to vote for tilt a whirl or lets go all the way?)
to me, the best time frame for being a juggalo was 94-2004. granted that made me 9-19 – my prime time if you will lol

Let’s be honest though, who WOULDN’T want to be on MTV if they had the chance to be? With music they had created and when they are making a living off music.
They play music on MTV?? Oh. Yeaaa, from like 3am to 6Am, when nobody is watching

eh, you the the deal. they used the fanbase to send some kind of message to the establishment, and it ultimately fell apart, because the establishment just swept it aside like it was nothing. a lot of the more pointed shit i remember involves a bunch of peoples stories, and i dont feel i should get that specific about em. but ill say that there was too much self-interested shadiness, and i guess ill say flat out lying going on at that time. from psy, from the mainstream, from the seed people… from anybody that had anything to do with anything.
lotsa back room shittalk, and no small amount of graft.
and thats when i first started hearin juggalos say crazy shit like, ‘insane clown posse has lost a lot of credibility with me.’
some said it because icp had sold out, others because icp failed at selling out.
i was honestly happier when psychopathic was just a logo and nobody knew shit about their business. but, cest la vie.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

Internet ruins all mystique. Remember the bio on the play with me action figures, that were completely made up? Shaggys said he likes to jump on houses rood to roof or some shit. That was cool to see, cuz for me, I had those before I had internet, and even though you know its made up, it was cool to read.
Also miss the secret phone number riddles they had on the ep’s to call.

yeah i remember the painted faces being shunned outside that TRL studio. the whole time, I wondered why they wanted so bad to get on MTV. Guess they are better off staying B-level like Charlie Sheen.
for whatever reason, the big homie J wants to achieve that particular kind of fame. He said he would never give another second to dem udder hoes, but he pops up here and there to this day. id be on some “let it be” shit probably, in his shoes, but who knows.

He wants the whole world to see his art.
I think the most depressing interview is the one on that Fox T.V. show where Violent J was sulking about how people dismiss them and juggalos by saying that they don’t count.

from what I rememberEsham went all gangster on Alex and Alex said fuck this shit and left
The story I remember hearing is that someone stuck a shotgun in the window of Alex‘s house and fired a shot. I remember Alex saying he had to think about the safety of his family right before he bounced. Speculation was Alex burned someone badly on a business deal, and they wanted revenge. I had no idea that Esham might be involved with that. Would be kind of hilarious of E scared away Alex.
