Like I’ve said before, I think ABK is going to officially leave PSY soon and release Shapeshifter on Native World. I mean, why else would he be taking so long to turn it into PSY? The recent interview with J kind of gave me the impression that the delay is coming from ABK’s side of the fence.

Funny you should mention the release date, I was looking for maybe a scheduled release date, and according to our very own front page, release date for Shapeshifter was November 13th, 2015. That obviously didn’t happen.

He’s probably going to say the same thing at the Gathering this year that he did last year. Which is basically that the albums done, he’s waiting on them, and it should be out soon.

Thats a good way to put it but Lucem is also pretty right in a way too.  ABK’s shtick is in the vein Celle is classifying him in but his problem is that he could be better if he applied himself consistently.  It ends up making him look  shitty when he has glimmers of dopeness followed by totally shitty lyrics and song topics. 

 

Where he really shines imo is live honestly.  ABK kills it at the Gathering no question but also in tiny ass clubs.  Dude is a solid performer and its where he makes his bread so hes in no rush to put out more stuff.  Thats just my take.

Damn skippy. His live show will make you instantly forget the mostly lame, genEric choruses and lyrics.

He has heart, I’ve actually gotten goosebumps during “One Last Chance” live. 

Not everyone can be like ICP, who excel both on album and live, and in person.

He specifically left PSY before due to feeling too much pressure from touring too much and having to guest on albums and had deadlines.

first question was about shapeshifter.

says it has been completed for some time now but is on the back burner due to financial issues that need to be resolved with psy. says once that is resolved he will turn it in for release. if that doesn’t happen by nov/dec then he will release it on native world.  

WTF?  Have they lost their damned minds?  Pay that ninja and let’s at least keep a few decent artist on psy shit man. 

At this point he might as well say it’s not getting released, then announce that he’s working on a new album, rename it, and include the already-complete Shapeshifter songs. After waiting over six years to release an album, I can guarantee it won’t be as good as we’d want it to be. Too much anticipointment.

Met killa several times. Dudes really laid back really cool and really humble which i respect about him. I do dig Killas music….but not all of it. Having said that i consider Medicine Bag a masterpiece so it is a dissapointment that shape shifter has taken so long. Financial issues tells me he feels hes entitled to X amount of $ for this record and Psy clearly dosnt believe so. In fairness to Psy Cds dont sell much anymore so i cant blame them. In Killas position i would strongly consider dropping it on Native World that way at least he gets all the $ from it.  

Where I live they can’t even keep psy stuff on the shelf.  I damn near have to wrestle ninjas to get my shit at the store.  I might switch to online just to avoid the drama. I almost got in a fist fight over that riddle box collectors edition once I thought.  Fool tried to snatch it out of my hand.

word, thats a rarity in todays society though player! but as an artist myself its cool to see that some people are still devoted to buying physical copies of shit!  

With Hastings closing there will only be one store closer then an hour away that sells faygo also which means delivery day is going to be bat shit crazy. It already sells completely out four days before the next shipment with two stores selling it but with only one…. I expect fist fights over it soon.

Man I’m soo bummed out about Hastings closing down. I would have had a copy of Asylum but because of the closing of Hastings Im kinda forced to online order CDs because where I live CD stores will completely be gone when Hastings  closes the doors.
