I was working in a pizza shop at the time cooking, my boy went and got the CD for us, we played it 3 times, twice for us, and 1 more to piss off our co workers.

From tadpoles to frogs to Jesus to legends.

Had my Mom pick me me up both versions from the store on her way home and listened to it with headphones. Shangri-La made me feel happy and sad in a good way when I first listened to it and Hell's Pit did the opposite. Just dark and angry and depressed. Musically it's everything they said it would be and was my favorite version of the 6th for years until life started getting better and I listened to Shangri-La high. Completely changed my mind. But HP got me through a horrible time in my life when everything sucked and was going wrong. It was like that album was made for me to get through that time. I barely listen to it now but I'll always have a soft spot for it and I'm glad J decided to go through with making it even though he said he didn't really want to because he was so happy. He deserves a lot of credit for that. I don't want ICP faking dark shit like that anymore and HP should always be there to be that album. I want new themes and concepts that keep reinventing ICP and the dark carnival in the same way both versions of the 6th did.

I was with my dad and had him drive me down to FYE at my local ghetto mall. Then we went to Wal-Mart and I proceeded to crank that shit up in my cd player while we walked around for over an hour doing some grocery shopping. Night of the .44 shined big on that first play through.

I remember getting it, throwing it in my discman, and mowing the grass.

It doesn't sound great, but the heat that day was pretty brutal, and it set the mood pretty damn well.

Also, holy shit, Bowling Balls was a riot.

in reference to the bold, idk about anyone else but there are a few psy records that are like that for me H&H got me through alive when my ex wife left me,  medicine bag helped me trough the death of my uncle we were really close, and actually way back when i was in high school before i was down i did go out and buy ABJ the day it dropped and if that's not the anthem cd for a scrubby ass loser in high school then fuck if i know what is lol but man did it make me feel good thinking about all the preppy bitches that gave me shit back then while listening to assassins. man i wish i wasn't an ignorant hatin bastard back then.

but as for the topic i love that cd, i unforunatly i wasn't listening to the shit when it dropped, but i fucking love C.P.K.s makes you wanna do a tour of catholic churches and take out the pedos lol

Shangri-la era was one of the greatest times of my life. Shit went downhill for awhile during HP era. Nothing music related. Only a strange coincidence.

Completely right and I was the same way. Fuck I was a dumbass. But whatever I didn't care. I caught a lot of shit being a juggalo during Milenko so AJB was the anthem for all of us scrubs. Scrubby and pissed off. The AJB era in a nutshell. The proudest time of me being a juggalo even though I didn't have shit goin on lol.

always kinda looked at "hells pit" as icps "last hurrah" of sorts

completed the saga of "the dark carnival", while also being their last release that had that "magical" feeling...nothing they put out has come close since

Love the album, just wish that was released before Shangri-Lah. I prefer Hells Pit over Shangri-Lah though. I'm going to hell and I'm knowing it well. The ending track is cool too. The tour was fun, that being my first time seeing Esham. Wasn't digging the bald look that J had at the time though. He was either bald or had really short hair, wasn't a good look for him but whatever it was a cool show as always.

With the DVD features, the Wicked Wonka show, I was wondering how that venue is set up? That has seating or something?

Violent J put Billy in charge. If anything violent j is in charge and Billy is a puppet lol. Billy won't say no to Violent J.

Hells Pitt was the first new icp cd I bought. The first icp cd I waited for.
