meh. Something tells me this was less about putting out a Legz Diamond album and more about putting Sugar Slam out there more. Im never gonna care about an artists wife/babies momma no matter how much they are shove down my throat.

It has a few brief moments but overall I was not feeling this release at all. It looked very promising. I love melodically orientated projects along these veins and Legz work with ICP is no less than amazing. To say I am a Jumpsteady fan is an undersell. I am a fan of all of his projects and he is probably my favorite MC, ever. Sugar Slams work, Hells Pit in particular, is devastating. She has great pipes. This had all the ingredients of a masterpiece. I was expecting to really enjoy this album and was quite optimistic for it.

The lead off single wasn't that bad. When I listened to 9P however, I was uncharacteristically underwhelmed. In my opinion the music just sounds anemic and thin. The melodies don't really shine. It could use more quality guitar in the mix. The chops are kind of ginger. I guess my main complaint is a matter of taste: The corny theme was just to much to swallow. It just didn't appeal to me in the slightest and it is hard for me to suspend my disbelief when I listen to this disc. I've given it about half a dozen uninspired listening sessions, it's not getting any better. I just can't get into gangsters of any era at this point in my life. That's the main reason 9 Pistolas just wasn't for me.

People who like this disc I'm happy for you. I wanted to, I just couldn't enjoy it.

I'm generally feeling the same as everyone who's responded, except I like the mob theme and sugar slam actually wowed me at how nice she sounds. It's a good album I think, but it aint for me...good thing it was only 8.99, i'll see if my lil brother likes it enough to want it.

You took the right approach by buying it and seeing for yourself. All to often people flame music just because their peers don't like it. You never know unless you get it and listen to it with an open mind. I decided not to buy it after I listened to it... how is the packaging?

I picked it up at best buy today, just normal plastic rapping as far as that goes (with a nice little sticker on the front letting everyone know all music was produced by ICP, I'm guessing that's either ICP blowing themselves or maybe to get fans of ICP to give it a chance, possibly both) the cover booklet has a cool little story about the 9th son of some gypsie family having some sort of special gift (adding a supernatural aspect to the mob theme) and also a lot of cool 20's era looking pics of legz and the crew dressed in that era clothing. And also, something that  I feel is uncommon with psychopathic artists, it had lyrics pages with all of the songs lyrics fully printed in a readable sized font. I hope that's the question you were asking for. Again, on the whole the album is pretty cool, I like the booklet and the gimmick it's just not really my style of music.

Then again, I may very well change my mind. It took gang rags a few weeks to grow fully on me. I bump it all the time now. And as far as not my kind of music goes, that's pretty subject to change too considering my pre-juggalo music taste was entirely iron maiden, queensryche, and bands of that kind. Oh, and KoRn, Disturbed, and Limp Bizkit.

9p is a good album to chill to. Not something to bump in the whip or anything like that
