according to old info still up about this now-defunct cereal adventure land thing, anbody could get one of those for twenty bucks.
three thousand percent markup for a souvenir trinket.
[edit]
thinkin on that for a second, its completely wrong to call it a markup. so disregard that.

I was gonna make another rehashed joke about 'rare' merch but I think even that has become cliche at this point.

PSY does this every year at the gathering auctions...
A guy paid $1000 plus this year for a "mystery" box that had some DVD's and jerseys in it.
paid a lot more than that, as i recall.
box did have a bit more freshness within than you describe, but even so i remember thinkin at the time that the whole mob was worth six hundred bucks, max.
but that cereal box thing, that shoulda been given away for free to 'fan-of-the-week'.
next, he could be selling the wax lions he gets at the zoo for a sawbuck each.

he was tryin to unload about half the shit he got, probably made back about twenty-five bucks.
i asked him if he had thought about keeping the swag, and selling the box it all came it for two grand. he didnt answer.

At least Violent J didn't show up and bid $600 when the starting bid was $100. ...or did he? I dunno, I wasn't there.
actually, the proceeds were supposed to go to some ninja for his transplant operation, or some shit like that. dont quote me.
anyway, the ninjas homie was there biddin on literally everything. including contending for the magic box, which he didnt get.
now, i would say thats some bullshit, except he did end up buyin a lot of stuff that he had just bid way up. so, in effect, psychopathic hooked him up with some nifty goodies for droppin a couple grand on his homies medical expenses. which isnt so outrageous. but still wack as fuck for everybody else.
auctions in general are wack.

They're literally paying $700+ for a photoshopped box of Lucky Charms....
This kind of stuff, I have no interest in, and just think it's, well, dumb. Why would anyone buy that? Come on now.

Good thing I don't have to buy it. It's almost as if it's not really a problem at all and not worth bitching about. Key word here is 'almost'.These people can't even lay a fart with out being scrutinized. Jesus.I just hope somebody hacks all the computers in North Korea and has them play The Interview on loop.

I've seen the gathering auction get bid on by both blaze and abk multiple times one year. The reason the cereal box has worth I guess is bc its something Madrox did on his off time and made for himself at the mall or whatever and was never meant to be given away. Plus it's a freaking auction the bidders drive up the price and maybe madrox wanted whatever he bid on. He does collect shit. Companies make money and go to great lengths to do so. Twiztid and many other independent musicians main goal is financial success while staying connected with and giving as much as possible to the fans. Twiztid does a damn good job at this anyone bitching and hating on them for making money are nit-picking and need to shut the fuck up. No different than some one buying a rare cd and selling on eBay for double the price. Go fuck yourselves

i've been saying for a while that their true colors have really started to come through, and that color is GREEN.it started with that fan club thing, pay 150 to be part of a club and get like a wristband and some stickers......then a few weeks later "we are cancelling it because we realized how hard it is", then all this stuff, it really comes across as them doing a cash grab while they still can, which is fine i guess, i will still support their music, but thats about it
