No, this isn't a showcase like usual, but a general discussion.

Since dropping the slower daunting "flow" (How Does It Feel?, Mutant X, The World) and adopting a hastened at times flow and often times silly flow (Breakdown, Sick Man, Unstoppable, Annihilating Life) been causing them to miss their mark? Has their latest efforts effectively been lack luster? Could they do better by slowing down and focusing on a great release?

New is better. No! New can be horrible.

I happen to like the new Twiztid. if you follow Twiztids releases, each one is slightly different from the last, if you sit down and listen to them in a row. theres nothing wrong with switching it up, no matter how much we want them to sound like they did in earlier years.

with that being said, I will admit that when Jamie chops, its hit or miss. He crams too much words in his lines it seems. I was very pleased to hear him sound like oldskool Madrox from Freekshow, on Coin Flip Lunatic.

I like Monos flow these days. its more aggressive.  wanna hear a funny comparison?  Listen to Mono, (or Hektic) in Home Sweet Home. im sorry, but he sucked in the early HOK albums.

I'll fuck you till you love me, Faggot!

Im kinda agreeing with Sean.  I think Mono has drastically improved in terms of overall skill, and I like his style now much more then past releases.  Jamie's new chopping style flow is hit or miss with me, and im not the biggest fan of the auto tune.  I am however a big fan of no two releases sounding the same so I encourage experimentation. I really loved Extension Chords of Abominationz.  As long as they keep switching it up but stay true to their roots, they'll be all good in this hood.

Condense a new nightmare and get twiztid into an lp, and I'd put it over freek show, mirror mirror, mutant, man's myth, and green book. That being said, there are individual songs on those lps that shit on those entire eps. Well, maybe not mirror mirror

Also, if done tastefully, what's the big gripe with autotune? I thought it was the shit on catch the show and wasted pt 2

@LTB The Green Book alone shreds Get Twiztid and A New Nightmare apart. Afraid of Me destroys BreakDown and Deep Down. The Green Book is them leaving the rare form they were in for Mirror Mirror.

Experimenting with different sounds is very harsh thing in the music world. Radio Stars by ICP comes to mind.

Twiztid always changes. That's what has kept me captivated all these years. But which era is better? Old er New? Depends on what mood im in honestly. Green Book will always be my personal favorite. Followed closely by Man's Myth. I like their first two albums, just not as much.

I consider mostasteless OG/reissue completely different than all other twiztid albums as far as rapping. They've never sounded like that again. They've come close. I think monoxide is better than he has ever been. You can feel the emotion. Between 04 and 05 he wasn't at his best. I would love a second solo from him now. Madrox is always on point, he's just been trying a lot of different styles lately. Mec mixed/recorded Madrox the best. Listen to bury me alive, the 2 different sounding vocal tracks with the high pitched stabs. I love that shit

I will cosign on this. Green Book has always been my favorite Twiztid album so i may be biased, but it is night and day when compared to their new sound. @ltb, i get where you're coming from cause u weren't stening back in the day, but that back to back release of mirror mirror and green book is flawless when it's something you grew up with.

I can't say i agree with @sean law in regards to hectic in HOK. I always thought he came pretty correct.

I prefer a little more of the new era vs. the old era. Green book is a classic and to say its better or worst with the new era ones. It's like comparing apples to oranges.

Fuck. I meant Deep End. I'm comfortable with that fuck up though.

I will always be partial to Green Book because it came out at a very good point in my life. I just think the new sound is much more refined along with their lyrical and rapping abilities. Im just gonna go ahead and say I love it all. Twiztid will ALWAYS be my favorite music group.

Actually until you corrected yourself I just transfixed End over Down as I read your original post.  Still ownership is a fleeting mistress these days.

@carnival you really wanted to get that point across.

@ocj deep down sounds better though.

I like new and old - I bought mostasteless the day it came out, so I've heard all of their music from the beginning.

I even remember some of the local HOK shows around here
