Damn, Mirror Mirror, Green Book, Chain Smoker and Hells Pit are my top 4 favorite PSY releases of all time. Like, those were my "time and place" albums growing up (even after listening to ICP since 99). I hold Chain Smoker on a very high pedestal, but that's just my shit.

Mirror Mirror is one of my ultimate "Time and Place" albums, as well. But I can admit to debate that it may be better due to nostalgia than actual quality. I disagree, but that argument is 100% debatable. I've had debates throughout the years and I even agree with some. The same can be said for Chainsmoker, although I would go so far as to say that one just isn't great overall in execution.

Pre-orders are up:

Fresh lookin merch. I got the shirt/CD combo. Glad to see only one feature on the track list. Would have bought the deluxe album but the bonus tracks all had multiple artists on them.

He just had to have Otis on there lol.. is Mono "taking him under his wing" like J claimed he did? Fuck outta here.
And "F.A.F.O." .... thought it was "F.T.F.O." for a sec lol
I'm sure it'll be fine. Actually would like to hear it.

That's Real
Totally agree.
I like Chainsmoker actually. It's a nice mix of west coast G-funk beats (see me) and east coast style as well (outta my way). I prefer the classic boom bap to those new almost trap type of beats that have crept into their music with weak snares and 32nd notes on the hi hats. If they would just make another Continuous Evilution, that would be fine. I understand the need to morph and grow, but I'm just not feeling this new wave. Continuous Evilution was the last album I bought a physical copy of. In my opinion, the music on Mad Season and Revelashun was fucking trash.
If Chainsmoker II has the classic beats and sound of the first Chainsmoker, or even the Madrox Phatso album, I'll get a copy. But I'm thinking there'll be too many of these types of beats, which I can't stand.
Twiztid AND BLAZE needs to return to beats of the type from Mike E Clark, Snowgoons, Sicknature, Necro, Godsynth, Fritz, and Obsidian. If Lex the Hex Master can get classic boom bap beats on 2016 CONTACT and G-Mo Skee could get classic boom bap beats on his albums, why the FUCK can't Twiztid?

If I recall correctly, I listened to Chainsmoker like 1 or 2 times and then never again. Nothing stuck out to me at all and I just moved on and forgot about it.
I know there are a lot of people that like Mirror Mirror a lot, but, I'm not one of them. Aside from a track or 2, I always thought the beats and production of it were very lacking and "empty" sounding. I can dig minimalist beats and don't need big fancy production to like a song, but something about Mirror Mirror never hit for me.

Once again, I 100% understand where someone could see Mirror Mirror as lacking. Nostalgically, it is one of, if not my favorite, Twiztid projects. The beats are kind of "off" and it's just a weird little album, but that is part of it's charm.
The only thing I don't love is "Dirty Lil Girl". Fucking stupid song.

I definitely understand that. It actually seems most people really liked Mirror Mirror. I remember that coming up on the Juggalo group on Reddit as well and it was like 95% people saying they love it.
But for me, the time it came out was when I was like the most enthusiastic about being a Juggalo and there was all kinds of awesome shit going on with Psychopathic at the time, and still Mirror Mirror came out and I listened through and was kind of like "oh no, I don't think I like this!" as if something was wrong with me at the time. But, nah, just didn't jive with me for whatever reason. And yeah, "Dirty Lil Girl" was especially horrible.

track 13 is easily the best track. track 3 is 2nd best.
track 4 is the worst, hook is terrible.
track 9 has some good singin' but I would've preferred if mono just sung all the verses.
skits are weak.
Mono went from being the most simplistic rapper on the projects(in the psy days). to actually being the most complex rapper on this one. not a fan of most of the beats though, song topics are generally generic too. 3/5

For me it was topic matter that sucked. Beats sucked. There's like 4 good beats for this album. I think hands down mono surpassed Madrox, just wasnt feeling what he was talking about.
I give the album a 5/10. I'll never replay it again. They should have used fritz imo or even wicked.
I had a feeling I wasn't gonna like the production. It was a good attempt at least. Wasn't God awful just wish there was better topic matter.
