V.I.P.'s go against everything i.c.p., twiztid and blaze are about! they talk about, we the same, we fam., but give me $100 to ask me a question! and the jugs. that do these v.i.p.'s, ain't real ninja's! FUCK UR V.I.P.'s! we all v.i.p.'s!
i dunno about the 'real ninjas' part, cuz i know quite a few real ass juggalos that have done vips... but otherwise, this is pretty much how i feel about it. especially the last sentence.
instead of 'very important persons', it should really be 'persons with too much disposable income'. but having 'p.w.t.m.d.i. packages' on your internet flyer doesnt exactly sing.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

I am one of those that do the VIP even if I have done the VIP with them before. If I have the ability to give something to the artists that gives them more incentive to keep making music, I'll do it. I never think it makes me more important.
My favorite VIP experience was ABK. He had the VIP meet-and-greet, then did his show, then came and hung out with everyone for a few hours (didn't matter if you were VIP or not). I just thought he was super cool. He sang to my daughter. Totally made her year! I know it kind of removed the specialty of the VIP but he made everyone feel like a VIP. Maybe it was just the size of the venue that enabled him to do it. Houston doesn't bring out the Juggalos as much as other towns. Most artists skip over us for a few years before finally stopping.
Anyway, When I have extra money I don't need and an artist with VIP comes around, I do it. I can't always do it. Sometimes financial priorities get in the way.

So you would rather them sell three bonus versions (which they have done since Milenko) for nothing? *
I don't mind the fact that they have different covers, but I do agree that their should be more substantial reasons behind them. For Example, what they did with W.I.C.K.E.D.. And I don't think ANYONE can complain about what they did for MDP, You mean I have to buy three versions to get the three bonus albums? What the fuck!? **
My problem with VIP Meet and Greets is that it justifies them not going out and meeting fans after the show. **** Yes. That's the definition of collections, to me. Variant covers, extra goodies. Not incomplete albums. That's just fucking the fans over. I have 3 copies of Bang Pow Boom. Same shit. For 6 songs? Then they go and release a nuclear edition with all them together. But the intro song is a terrible DJ "mix." C'mon. That was balls.
** WICKED was great. You can be like, "I want them all." Or you can pick the extra songs, if you like the music. The Comic, if you want the comic, or the DVD if you like that. It wasn't as good a deal as MDP, but it was better than BPB and Medicine Bag.
*** Good point. I remember smoking with ABK and Kottonmouth Kings. Talking to them eye to eye. As an equal. VIP really puts them up on a pedestal. If we didn't buy the tickets, you couldn't perform in these clubs. VIP is for Rolling Stones and other people that regularly sell out stadiums and arenas. Not for guys who sell 350 tickets for a 500 person club.

I'm not exactly starving. I'm fairly well-off. And I didn't get that way by spending money foolishly. Paying $100 for "VIP" passes is foolishness. I'm a fan of the music. If I meet you, cool. If not, I at least want access to all your shit. And again, with the downloading... I'm at the mercy of the uploaders, and juggalos seem to NOT know how to upload good quality mp3s.
For example, During the War and Peace tour, there was a VIP meet and greet (I think it was lke 75 bucks and it came with a shirt and two CDs) I didn't get it, but Immortal Tech was still out there meeting people during Brother Ali's set and after the show. The thing with that is, if you're trying to talk to him during another set it is loud as fuck. So I could understand paying a little bit for more "intamacy" especially since it came with some other exclusive merch.
I also think Strange does (or at least did) VIPs right. You get a meet and greet with EVERYONE on the tour, and at least with the one my girlfriend got me, it came with a shitload of CDs, a Shirt, bandanas, a flag, posters, decals, stickers, necklaces, ties, picture frames. Basically a shitload of merch. I would never get one again, but I could see how someone could feel justified in getting a Strange VIP.

Also, you have to remember that these fans who are paying 100 for a meet and greet are probably helping to offset the fans that download the music for free. I am all for downloading music, but I personally feel it is unethical not to purchase the product if you are able to and if you legitamately enjoy it.

I hate when people claim that "doing this" or "doing that" makes you "not a really juggalo". There are no fucking requirements to being a juggalo.
My nigga!
In fact, this is actually a logical fallacy:

If there tour was coming closer to me, I'd consider springing for the VIP package. It's a win-win. You are supporting a now-independent artist, and they offering a service some people are willing to pay for. Simple fact is, they just wouldn't have enough time in their busy schedule to meet and take a photo with every single fan that came through the doors.
In fact, I might go to the one in Reading PA. If anyone lives in the DC metro area, PM me if you want to car pool. I've got a car, just nobody to roll with. Gas is on me.
