The said in May that they signed another artist but wouldn't be announcing who until mid July.  So the timing works out pretty well for it to be announcing it at the gathering.  And he made it sound like it's someone significant that people know.  AXE is the only one quite significant that is still within their league, but it's unlikely since they have 5 members last I heard.  It's always Bill and Joe, and then they rotate out all kinds of other members all wearing the same mask.

I mean, it sounded like it could have been.  He looked genuinely like he didn't know how to react to that question.  But yeah, I figured I would just post the question here since a lot of forum people don't check out the news feed.

The interviewer said "so I believe you're playing the gathering next month, right?"  And both looked stunned, then Monoxide said "no" and Jamie continued looking stunned, then they said "but we do have somebody form our record label."

It sounds like a stretch in that context, but it looked suspect.  They have another artist that they are supposed to be announcing mid July which coincides with the Gathering, but Warped Tour also crosses paths with the Gathering right at that time, so that leaves the door open.

In my mind, it's either some variation of Twiztid, or the artist they haven't announced yet.  I guess that would depend on the wording.  Lotus or Rydas would count as "someone from their record label" without technically counting as a Twiztid performance at the Gathering.

If it's an artist that's already announced but not officially MNE at this point, I would guess either THC or 10/31.  AXE would be cool, but it's impractical.

nobody from psy has had anything to say about this, have they?  that suggests that it is either somebody not known to be signed, or its a special surprise guest thing.  

lookin at the main stage on the timeline, i see places where a surprise set might fit in.

Didnt think they would be dumb enough to come out with mne apparel on, and also thought thats why they were holding the information off was due to rock/crap throwing. Thinking it would have to be twiztid themselves to not have the crowd do something dumb. And even then its a possibility... Best to hold off said information
