Well the question i would have is how are all these artists gonna get paid. I feel that if MNE keeps signing artists like this, they are gonna be in over their heads, if they arent already. I know they still have a couple of unannounced artists they are likely to sign. You can bet after this year, the albums from twiztid and their side groups, ie hok, triple threat etc, are gonna be released far apart, since they gotta promote and give all the other artists studio time and what nots.
As for gordy, i never could get into his music...i couldnt even see why he would sign with anyone too, he gots a following...you would think he would rather get the biggest cut of money from his albums. Giving a percent of his sales to a label seems pointless, unless he really thinks MNE could draw more consumers

Merch.
They bring a lot of artists on tour and only charge 20 bucks for the tickets, then they hit you with 30 dollar shirts and awesome posters at the merch booth for all of the artists. The 2 main artists that they use for the posters and shirts only charge a couple hundred at most, so it's pretty quick and easy.
They can get away with only bringing a few of their artists on tour to draw a crowd and then selling merch for the entire roster at each show. Seems to work really well based on what I have seen at their shows.

True, i dont think ive seen much of a merch game from gordy, but then again ive never really went down the gordy rabbithole that deep.
Technically the only way their artists sell merch is being on the bill with twiztid tho...i heard that boondox's tour wasnt very profitable...and i cant really see MNE putting all these artists on all of twiztids shows

Right, he's not big on merch. But he will be if he stays with Twiztid. A lot of people will use the example of Gorilla Voltage not getting a lot of promotion, but they also still work with Kung Fu Vampire who sells a lot of their merch at his shows.
And Twiztid rarely takes all of these artists with them to the shows. But they take their merch with them and sell it, and it's in more or less the same style of Twiztid's artwork; it just says something different on the top. It's usually Twiztid and Blaze with R.O.C., Lex, and a few locals as the openers.
It can't work like Psychopathic used to where all of the artists lived basically in the same city or suburb (aside from Boondox), so they can't afford to buy like 15 extra plane tickets to every show just so most of their roster can be there. Like I mentioned, they are relying on merch sales and dope artwork and probably barely breaking even on ticket sales. But if it works, it works. I haven't seen any real evidence that suggests that any of the artists are unhappy with the arrangement.

He has had some shirts, CDs and "official" glasses. His webstore back in the day was shady as fuck. My dude tried to order shit off of it a few times and never got anything but his card charged and the customer service number on the site is disconnected lol. Which kind of ties into why Gordy would want to sign to MNE.
The only reason anyone ever knows about him doing a show or releasing an album is because of him and his crew. BUUUUT he's on a label. WEB Entertainment. It's the same label that did Eminem's old stuff. After Eminem blew up they singed Gordy and he got to work with Em and all of D12 (thus his awful fuckin friendship with Bizzar) but WEB wouldn't push him, instead they tried to push a whole lot of cats that look/sound/feel like Eminem. Basically they bait and switched Gordy and he's been fucked ever since.
Basically Gordy is already payin a label and they do absolutely nothing for him. He pays friends to run his webstore (which is now closed and never really was working), promote for him and he pays for his own studio time and production. MNE can't be that bad.

I bumped gordy back in the day but he fell off harder than a mother fucker. If they can help him stay on point, this will be great news.
It has been argued that the last couple albums he made went so...off topic...because he's intentionally tryin to get out of his deal with WEB. His last few albums flopped fuckin hard and his "current" album still isn't out despite it supposedly being done for over a year now.
He hasn't confirmed it yet but all of that sure sounds like he's been making moves to get signed to MNE or someone--anyone--else.

I saw this coming a mile away, predicted it ever since MNE was announced, actually.
Let's remember that there was a time when Psychopathic's business practices were less transparent. In those days there was always talk of, "Why doesn't Psy sign x? He's so dope and does the wicked shit!" And there were plenty of underground hopefuls aiming for a spot- which only ever happened via Underground Psychos, which gave us Dox and AMB, and even then only after retooling the former and giving him a gimmick from the ground up. The ill-fated sublabel Hatchet House implied that they would be the place to pluck up underground talent, but it never bore substantial fruit.
Majik's original incarnation was looking to sign Q-Strange, which I saw as a portent of things to come with this new label. Gordy was my first projection as a known signee for the label since he seemed a natural fit, a talented MC on top of being a Detroit area horrorcore act who collabed with Twiztid in the past. Obviously I was wrong about the order of things, but whether this is a multi-album deal or a standalone project, it's apparent that Twiztid/George is mindful of what resonates among their target demographic.
Allegedly Violent J had said that he would not sign Gordy specifically because of him being too far eplicit in his shock rap, apparently not wanting to push someone who does rape/dead baby/devilshit. I'm not sure if this is true, but it sounds plausible, and underscores the marked difference in each label's approach to business. MNE seems to grant their signees a higher degree of creative control by not binding them to an ethical standard content-wise.
My only ciritque of King Gordy as far as his shock rap is concerned is that he's not really all that shocking. He's an immense talent and arguably the greatest straight up lyricist in the underground, but he does a disservice to that talent by taking the low and lazy route with what he considers shocking. Just like dead baby and pederast jokes are the weakest form of offensive joke, so it goes with shock rap. He's admitted that the reason he does so much gay shit lately is because it's shocking for hear a hood rapper say those kinds of things- "Hood niggas don't say shit like that." But to me it's just a sidebar into some lines about doing gay shit. Might be explicit, sure, but it's not shocking. It's no different than Shaggy talking about his nuts for the umpteenth time. His cardinal sin as it pertains to these subjects is that he recycles them over and over and over. For people like myself who consume horrorcore like vicodin, we need stronger, stranger and less cliched imagery to be moved to a new plateau. I have no doubt that he's capable of this, I just feel like his "recent" output was marred by redundancy and putting simple shock in front of the creative effort necessary to achieve something truly shocking.
A great counterpoint to my own argument is his verse on Reel Wolf's The Underworld. His verse about having posthumous sex with Adolf Hitler utilizes a lot of those shock standards but does it in such a way that the result is a gonzo portait that's more than the sum of its parts and kind of brilliant.

The "Outro" on Xerxes is one of the most vulgar rhymes I've ever heard. It even disturbed my oldest brother, a combat vet.
Raping Obama's daughter was the worst. On this July 4th day, it makes me proud that we can get away with saying that kind of thing in the name of entertainment, and not get beheaded for saying that.
Perhaps King Gordy getting shot last year or so, was a sort of spiritual comeuppance.
For every song where he and that mostly wack Bizarre guy discuss raping Justin Bieber, he has legitimately quality tracks like "Bridges to Burn."
Unfortunately, watch him jump on the PSY diss train. He already expressed his disdain for Hoodoo's gimmick.
