i think it adds to the songs more than takes it away. we don't die sounds way better with a band. gives a whole new way of listening to it. i've seen twiztid so many times I got sick of seeing them with just instrumentals basically playing karaoke

i witnessed them on friday at  binghamton ny.  it wasnt as bad as i thought. you could here there vocals better then  davy suscide  set. why are people complaining they havent used them at every show

Binghamton whut up? Elmira OG representing for that bitch ass!

I would welcome some live band flavor to switch up the vibe of a group I've seen many many time...

Especially since folks are remarking on them playing more obscure songs...

What are some of those tracks yall that have seen The Wickedness and Twiztid?

I'm also from Binghamton here. I was at that show too.

Lex was actually way better live than I expected. Blaze killed it. I didn't care much for The R.O.C. or Boondox's sets. Twiztid with The Wickedness wasn't the greatest thing in the world but it was still pretty cool. Hoping they don't play with them at The Gathering though.

Kung Fu Vampire has been doing the live band thing since he started i think in 2001, they are the only ones i've seen who do it right and sound sick with live band. Most anyone at this point who just adds a live band seems to be doing it as a gimmick or to step it up and it just doesn't feel cohesive like Kung-Fu Vampire but The Wickedness was a nice change from just twiztid by themselves. batman

I one time had an argument with Kung Fu over twitter because he claimed he was the first one to do a live band. I pointed out The Roots and, hell, the fact that Hip Hop started out with live bands and he told me they don't count because they are old school. He also tried to tell me that he doesn't argue over the internet again. He said something about only little bitches argue over the internet or something. That guy is funny.

Edit: In person he told me that he's not on the internet, and that other people run his accounts.

Kungfu is literally one of the coolest most interesting artists I've ever met, he has zero ego in person and was just one of us Juggalos! He actually got some free weed from a fan at the merch booth and was giving it all away to each person that came up to the booth. Also, I'm pretty sure he is a Hip Hop enthusiast based on his FB posts and he knows he's not the first one to bring a live band element to hip hop but in his defense nobody ever names anyone other than the Roots, lol. KFV for sure brought it to the wicked shit first and was definitely the first to bring an orchestra to rap music and for that alone I love him. But yea the wickedness is decent but not on the level yet!  (My 2 cents)

So was Kung Fu Vampire but man Cupress Hill is fucking boss. They were so dope with the live band, probably my all time favorite rap group but even they did that as a project, the band was never part of the permanent line up, and the band was playing previously recorded songs for the major part. Cypress was super sick and still is now a days.

This live band doesn't sound appealing to me in the least.

Also, there's like 3 of us on this forum from Binghamton? What are the odds.

Yeah, the amount of Upstate New York ninjas that have either been here or recently joined is kind of shocking.

Hip Hop started with live bands. Plus, pretty much every big name artist has done it. Not as a staple of their live show, but that's besides the point. I give him that it's not nearly as common as it used to be and he influenced Tech and Twiztid to do it. Same with the orchestra. A lot of rappers have used an orchestra. Off the top is Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar, but I don't know who did it first. Kanye is the first I've seen back in 2008 when he did that VH1 special thing. He's probably the first rapper to actually use an orchestra to produce a whole album, though.

Yeah, Kung Fu is cool. I call him out on his bullshit and he's never personally insulted me like other rappers have. Compared to most rappers his bullshit level is pretty low too. Especially in comparison to Priceless of Aqualeo who is trying to convince people that he is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Speaking of resurrection of christ, I have a question that doesn't deserve a thread. Does anyone know what The ROC stands for? I assumed it was the reincarnation of christ.

OT, what about Body Count? Rage Against The Machine?
