Drums have an extremely complex sound to them, if you don’t know what I mean by that I mean that every little thing ever effects the drum sound, from the room your playing in, to the guy whose playing it, no matter how you play a guitar what decides the sound of each notes are your pedals an your guitar, but drums are affected by EVERYTHING and it brings a level of variety that is heccin delicious and keeps it audiably engaging, which is perfect for twiztid, 

You’re so incredibly wrong about the notes you play on a guitar only being affected by pedals and the guitar. A guitar will sound different in different rooms, just like drums, or any other instrument for that matter. The player has a huge impact on the sound of any instrument. Some guitarists have a light touch, some are heavy handed, some play with their fingers and some play with picks. The material of the pick alone and how you hold it has such a drastic affect on how a guitar sounds.  

Obviously you still need fucking acoustic treatment, so yeah, the room will matter, but the mic placement is the real killer when it comes to recording, but ALL OF THAT is far behind the pedals and the pickups (but seriously mic placement will change everything, try fucking with it for a few hours and see the impact it has). Anyways, here’s this

Picking does affect the sound, the biggest jump is obviously from using your fingers to a pick, but the difference between picks is minimal, unless your using something made of metal or some shit (another way to make things interesting are doing things like using a ring on your fret board, I think Zack Wyld does that, I know I do with the ring my bf gave me, it’s fun). And the way you hold your pick means jack shit, I hold mine at a slight angle compared to others and the only effect it has is on my tremolo picking. 

I know we like to live in magic happy world, where we pretend that every guitarist is super unique and the way you play is different from everyone else’s, but the sound is NOT in the hands.

Meanwhile compare all that to drums

person to person, drums will change ENTIRELY. Meanwhile electric guitar is a closed fucking electrical circuit, who has the more recognizable guitar work, tell me, Dimebag Darrel, or Willie Adler, keeping in mind they’re both parts of giant and absolutely amazing groups, and they’re both fucking incredible, but one of them picks like a fucking freak of nature, and the other one decided to do some fresh raw sounding shit with his gear, which one do you think it easier to recognize?
