This has been kicking around in my mind jelly for some time. Am I the only one who has noticed the occult connection in the iconography and lyrics of Boondox? Some examples:

In (insert song name here) he says ‘Playin’ Russian Roulette with Baphomet” Now, for those who aren’t aware Baphomet is the amalgam of pagan imagery initially introduced as the Sabbatic Goat via the 17th century occultist Eliphas Levi and was later co-opted by modern Satanic and other occult schools as a representation of the Devil Himself.

In the aforementioned instance the pronunciation is off, (the T is silent) but the reference still stands. Even so, the Baphomet imagery still persists throughout his videos, specifically in the Bukshot video ‘Villians’ and ‘Peck Your Eyes Out’, where the image of a goat-headed woman is featured prominently in either instance. Also worth noting is the practice of donning exaggerated animal heads as part of a ritual in LaVeyian Satanism, though not as overt as the Baphomet imagery.

Then we have Abaddon, who is the diety of destruction in Judeo-Christian texts, as well as the Kabbalah. Was this just Dox trying to be edgy, or does Mr Hutto have some measure of true esoteric understanding with regards to the dark arts? Even the presence of Sicktanic evocing the name of Asmodeus (another demon of Hebrew tradition) hints at some kind of depth of understanding of forbidden knowledge. Although I daresay Dox has out-Sataned any wannabe devilish SKR fruitcake on the basis of those references alone. What do you guys think? In the words of a wise man, tell me if I’m trippin.

Despite you’re shit talking of SKR he probably got it from hanging out with SickTanicK being as how SickTanicK did perform the intro to Abbadon. SickTanicK being a member of O.T.O. I’m sure he knows a lot more about the esoteric than you give him credit for. I mean, yeah he can get corny as fuck but, hell, if you know enough about the magick alphabet then perhaps you can decipher the meaning behind some of his lyrics. Sick is probably the only rapper I’ve heard that actually has some really deep rooted references in his music over the generic references to Baphomet or Do As Though Wilt or the all seeing eye.

I’ll certainly concede your point if SickTanicK (I’m doin it right nao?) is a card carrying member of the O.T.O., but I need proof beyond anecdotal evidence.

And don’t get it twisted, I love when Raz sings if she doesn’t rap and I’ve been down with Fang Gory since before he was signed. I will admit that I can’t get past Mr.TanicK’s corny raps to listen beyond more than the handful I’ve been exposed to. I’m just saying, if you have some off the cuff references to these deeper meanings, please post. I promise I’ll listen. I am that dude.

Beyond that this is still a Boondox = Black Magician? thread so if anyone has relevant information that would be appreciated.

At one of his Hogrock shows I ran into people carrying around a live snake on a stick, so the “Pray With Snakes” part is for real.

Traditionally, serpent handlers use a hands-on approach. Hogrock guy kinda sounds like just a Juggalo with a snake-on-a-stick. Who hasn’t been that guy? I know I have.

His level of occultism is on par with shitty horror movies. He isn’t deep into anything but googling.

I find it as real as any other belief system, like Scientology. Or Communism.

Boondox had the only snake I’ve ever seen in a pit. Its religious significance didn’t occur to me at the time, & I bet it felt the same way about me.

He doesn’t really have too many deeper meanings behind the songs, his songs are pretty blunt but they are riddled with esoteric references like “With my head above the heavens and my feet below the hells”. His earlier stuff is the more shock value Satan stuff and his later stuff is the more occult and esoteric stuff. That’s kind of one of the problems he has. He’s not clever enough to portray things in a way that’s not corny. He is getting much better now though.

I know his song Black Dahlia is a great step in the right direction. Not really an occult song, but shows the potential of what he could be.

I guess a name like SickTanicK kind of screams shock value Satanism. He’s posted pictures on his Twitter of the ring they gave him and I think some paperwork can’t remember. And I’ve seen him work with a few people of the Heretic Library. And it is speculated that when he got into that car crash and started that GoFundMe page that a few of the anonymous donations with huge cash donations were also members. But I wouldn’t put it past him to lie about it either.

As for Boondox I know he’s a Christian, but he could be a Thelemite. I know Ab-Soul is a Thelemite that still follows Christ. He also has some occult references, but none that go too deep.

Their idea of magick is something similar to Karma. I don’t know, it’s weird. You’d have to look into it.
