ICP are unrivaled when it comes to making an ALBUM. PSY Gang Rags was complete in my opinion. The MNE Gang Rags had fresh tracks to stand alone and the MNE production was ridiculously awesome. But when it comes to putting Blaze on tape, PSY release will stand the test of time. IMHO.
Listen to "Tokyo Spa" and tell me Gang Rags was complete.

I think he eluded to it not being what he wanted...rather what PSY thought would be good for him (working with MEC) I think its in the FLH interview but I could be wrong.

I cant see how anyone would "like" giving an album you worked on to you label and having them essentially scrap it and redo it their way. If it was me whatever they morphed it into no matter how fresh it was...would still irk me bc it was no longer what I intended to make...

In the entertainment business, there are plenty of instances where you do something, and people above you say, "Now's not the time for this, we need something more like _______."
You don't get mad or dislike it.
I just simply dont agree with this. Im sure its true...but any artist who is cool with their shit being changed in almost its entirety (change in some fashion is part of life) can go kick rocks imo. They obviously didn't believe in what they had so im not going to either...

I'm not saying it's a good thing. It happens all the time. Dave Chappelle said Half Baked wasn't supposed to be a stoner comedy, it was supposed to be semi-serious. I've heard talks that the first three die hard movies were rejected action film sequels (i think to schwarzenegger films). It happens all the time. You gotta roll with the punches and wait for your time, or you gotta do it yourself.
Fair enough...I guess id have to do shit myself as I would never stand for that jib jab...

Before I comment, I want to say thanks again to @yakkattack for offering up his spare copy of GR Reborn.
"Give'em What They Want" was instantly a favorite of mine. But this whole album is sick, seriously. I'm really diggin the darker beats on this album. "Dead Gangsta" is catchy as fuck. "Lost & Found" again has a dark sound, which I love. I guess an easy way to sum up my thoughts on GR Reborn is that it comes off as very haunting to me. They weren't kidding when they said "this is the way gang rags was supposed to be heard". GR Reborn is waaaaaaayyy better than the other gang rags. The Dead Homie is back!! Let's hope we don't have to wait another 4 years to hear from Blaze again!
