well, im deeeply into the original watchmen miniseries, ive analyzed the hell out of it.  probably read it about twice a year, still.  every page, hell, every panel is infused with genius.  

the film had a bunch of good stuff, and some of the changes/additions were actually improvements;  but on the whole, i feel like it couldve been better. 

once, i did a treatment for watchmen that wouldve been a 12-part miniseries of half-hour episodes.  the timelines broke down a lot when tryin to incorporate the black freighter stuff, and i never had a clue on how to include the supplemental shit from the back pages of each issue [of course, no one else has, either.  pity, cuz its important to the story].  

im much the same about most of frank millers stuff.  big fan, read it often, so analyzing his shit comes easy, too.  

but if i could have but one comics story to read for all time?  watchmen, without qualification.
