Not sure if any of you ninjas that like/liked manson have heard this shit but I thought it was interesting. Original versions of Antichrist Superstar and pre reznor production of portrait.

I was totally into MM during the Antichrist Superstar era. I liked the story line behind the album. It was funny hearing people say that he was evil because of how he sang but if they just listened to the lyrics, they would see that he was talking about them and that they were making an antichrist with their complete hatred of everything.

"Anti-people now you've gone too far, here's your anti-Christ superstar!" - 1996

Anyway, Great find. I have not heard those versions.

I used to be a super hardcore manson fan I had bootlegs of these. His new album the pale emperor is the first good album since Holywood. He was great on live this year too

Good stuff. Not as big of a MM fan as I use to be, but I still play a few of his albums throughout the year. Smells Like Children and Golden Age of Grotesque are my favorites. Haven't heard the new one yet.

Grown out of him, but Mechanical Animals is still one of my favourite albums by anyone.

Marilyn Mason has a great live show I totally recommend it in a similar manner to which I recommend ICPs live show to those who don't like the music/image.  He really knows how to entertain and is worth the ticket price for sure.  That is all.

I don't really...It just missed me somehow.  I only went to his concert because my ex really wanted to and literally bought our tickets, bought us drugs to take, and even bought us a rental car so we could go (her brother actually did that part as she wasn't 25).  I didn't want to go and made up those three excuses to get out of it but damn was glad I went when we left the show...it was really good.

I used to love Manson...haven't dug his stuff since mechanical animals. I think that a lot of what made Manson great was his other band mates and producers. I heard snippets of the pale emperor and couldn't get into it but it was just the iTunes samples so maybe if I give a few of the full songs a chance I might find a gem. I didn't like golden age of grotesque except for the title song.

Portrait of an American Family is the only one I owned, and I loved it. Truly unique heavy album. Have only heard like seven subsequent singles since then. "The Beautiful People" is too classic. Great anthem.

I loved Manson in the 90s. Portrait, Smells, and Antichrist were all awesome albums. After that though I could not get into Manson at all. I wish they played more than 1 song if that from Portrait. I love how the pre reznor Portrait album starts with Snake eyes and Sissies. Man I remember rockin the black Portrait Shirt with the quote "This is you world in which we grow, and we will grow to hate you"

This is fucked up to say but I kind of think Manson should have died a long time ago. Even when AntiChrist Superstar came out there was this feeling that he was going to die young. Maybe that was just his self portrayal in his music or something but it feels weird that he's still alive. That guy, at least what he portrayed, should have been a martyr, not an overweight guest on a talkshow.

It doesn't help that his last four or five albums have been total shit. With the exception of Murderers Are Getting Prettier Every Day, all he goes is moan on a poorly structured, suburban, white kid, attempt at a blues song over and over again now.

It is because manson wasn't the only creator of the concepts and lyrics. Manson had a lot of other great artists backing him. Madonna wayne gacy helped create a lot of anti christ superstar and gidget gien helped a lot with portrait of an american family. Trent reznor helped give manson a professional sound as well.
