Off To The Races is NASTY

What I mean is that I absolutely do not believe that "Gangsta Nancy Sinatra" comes naturally to this girl, but was rather offered to her and she adopted it.

Her voice fits it, but that's it.

Word, well basically, she refers to her style as that of a "Gangsta Nancy Sinatra"; Nancy Sinatra is Frank Sinatra's daughter, and she made music that was like if Lana Del Ray was less niggerish.

It's a great style, and I love it, but: Lana Del Ray used to be a singer under the name Lizzie Grant, and she was more of an indie post-Natalie Imbruglia style singer. Her career never hit, and one day she was presented with the opportunity to fit a particular role that her record label was looking for (a "Gangsta Nancy Sinatra") and it just so happens that she was able to make it work with her lower pitched voice, and liked the style enough to go through with it, and now, here's Lana.

It's great, but it's not her. It doesn't matter, but it kinda does. But not really. It just sort of ruins the illusion if you're very aware of it (and are the type to be bothered by that sort of thing).

I understand what you're getting at, but I'm not saying that I expect her to really be some vegas slut who smokes cigars and bangs criminals and shit, I'm saying that I don't believe she would sing about it unless she was instructed to. I do believe that psychopathic artists, even ones I don't like, are naturally inclined to rap about murder and suicide. If Twiztid started rapping about being clowns and rides at carnivals that are designed to kill people on every album, I would find that inauthentic, sort of like how I find their juggalo anthems somewhat uncomfortable to sit through (like Your The Reazon for example [although Raw Deal is pretty good]). It's fine when the rap about "family" but going hard on some "you're the reazon why I act like a ninjalo" is just a little uh, eh... nah.

While I do find J*, ABK, Myzery, and a few others' personalities unbearable, I don't think it's inauthentic of them to be acting that way (they're just very annoying people).
Alex, on the other hand, is an obviously fake and obnoxious human being who's never said anything that didn't make me want to peel my skin off, especially when he'd use juggalo slang, or anything "young" sounding, really.
