horrible.
as a longtime HUGE budden fan, his new album has to be one of the biggest letdowns ive ever purchased (along w/the new slaughterhouse record)
dude is the definition of a sell out, turned his back on his core fanbase that stuck with him through all his hardships over the past decade to make cliche throwaway music for the radio.

this & the other single are the only radio-like songs.. 2 out of 17 is sell out?? i disagree.. do you remember pump it up?? most of the album is his patented somber style.. i dug it.. this track is prob my least fav joint off it tho.. not cuz its radio-friendly.. just cuz it wasnt that great to me..

its like the REAL bill burr said on rogans podcast recently.. selling out is an internal thing… its when you do somethin you dont want to do.. im sure he was proud to make a few radio songs since hes been doin it since the start of his career.. dudes gotta push the fuckin LP.. your (& most peoples) definition of sell-out is retarded & off-base… nothin's worse than hipsters who want artist they like to stay broke..

2 out of 17?...i would say there are 4 "true" budden tracks on that piece of shit album (castles, all in my head, skeletons, my time)
the rest is complete nonsense made strictly to attempt to appeal to the mainstream attention he has received from whoring himself out on "love & hip hop" (honestly...i cant think of a better definition of selling out)
if you seem familiar w/budden so i wont go into it, but 2 quick points: 1)pump it up was a LONG time ago, budden's real fanbase was established afterwords through the mood muzik series and all of his deep/introspective/emotional music...THAT is what he represented. 2)budden also has a long history of claiming to be "real" and "fighting the machine"...he represented true art and not jumping through hoops for the corporate bullshit...it wasnt till very recent that he started dressing like he was tryna win GQ best dressed awards and proudly boasting about how when slaughterhouse blows up "hes gonna be the first one to sell out"
he is the opposite of everything he prides himself on being...dude has zero integrity and doesnt give a fuck about no "internet soldiers"...which is fine, thats his right, its his life/career, but there will ofcourse be a scorned core fanbase when you turn your back on everything you represented.
but back to NLL real quick...you really enjoyed that album?i didnt have high expectations going into it, and was blown away by how fuckin horrible it really was..."all in my head" is about the only track on there i really enjoyed and that shit was on "a loose quarter" i dunno how you could say theres only 2 "radio like" songs...top of the world?she dont put it down?n.b.a.?you and i?last day?switch positions?tell him something?...thats all horrible shit made for the radio/teenage females watching him jump through hoops on reality shows

I havent really been able to get into alot of Joe Budden stuff since "Escape Route". But I'm not hating on him its just my taste in music, I became a fan off Budden back in 03 when somebody played me his album and I heard joints like "Walk With Me" "Stand Up Nucca" & "Calm Down", he was really agrressive and Dark at the same time. MM2 IMO is the single best Mixtape/Free album ever and MM3 was pretty close behind it. Padded Room & Halfway House lacked in the beats but were quality lyrically..........But ever since he joined Slaughterhouse I havent been into him, SH to me is one of the most boring groups ever and all Joe's solo music since MM4 has this somber Drake-ish vibe to me that I cant get into........ I havent even heard this new album yet to be fair but the reason for that is I downloaded "Loose Quaarter", the mixtape that came out before it and the only songs I liked at all were the ones with Ab-Soul & Tsu......
