It aint hard to tell that Nas is a master lyrically, and Illmatic is great to put me back in that New York State of Mind, but ive always felt that he was a trifle overrated. They praise his storytelling skills, but I find Violent J and Shaggy to be far more vivid tale~spinners. Nas doesnt have that interesting of a voice to me.
Ice Cube is more my style. Gangsta rap is on my rotation often. Im usually down for whatever, and fuck dyin, so I'll usually bump.some Cube over Nas more than half the time. Are We Done Yet?

His performance at the 2011 Gathering was the stuff of legend, glow sticks flyin all over the place in the crowd the whole damn time!
Yeah both his sets were dope the next year he did a track with Lil John which although I don't really care for it was dope to see ninjas jamming out with an open mind..
