I for one think he is an amazing rapper, in the sense of lyricism and storytelling ability. Good kid M.A.A.D. city is a chill ass album. I also like how he talks about growing up in Compton without necessarily promoting the lifestyle.

Also, Swimming Pool is about alcholism and everyone gets drunk listening to it... dumb people lol.

"Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe" and "I'm Real" are great songs.

ive only heard a couple tracks but i was disappointed at how highly people praised him yet his delivery was very similar to allot of modern/current mainstream artist..

Do you know which songs you have heard? I can send you some other tracks, but we may just like different tracks.

Yeah, Poetic Justice is my least favorite song from the album. Would you be willing to check out a couple more? I can post them on here.

Only heard his features on Tech albums, I liked them. Especially on Fragile.

took me a while to appreciate his debut on Aftermath but I think theres better stuff to come from him and the rest of Black Hippy. That sing for me song is my favorite on the whole album.

My brother gave me Mad city section 80 and the Black Hippy CD which I like best of the 3.  Theyre all dope though imo...I just like Jay Rock too, so thats why im biased to Black Hippy.

he's my favorite hip hop artist out right now as far as newer ones are concerned...great lyricism, great storytelling, crazy flows at times, and just makes really great original sounding music...GKMC is great but Section.80 is personally my favorite of his collection...probably my favorite album of the last 5 years...Overly Dedicated and The Kendrick Lamar EP are worth checking out also...and fuck these rappers getting upset at him now over a verse which was only telling other artists to step their game up and bring the competition back into it...everyone's taking it as a diss when it obviously isn't (he's worked with or is working with the majority of the artists he mentions in the verse)

i dont mind him, i didnt really dig maad city, but i may have to go back and take another look.

i loved his verse on fragile though. it was absolute fire. fuck im gunna go listen to it now.

i preferred follow me home over maad city, but that took me quite a few listens to get into.

@novocaine...check out his earlier work too like Section.80 and Overly Dedicated...some great tracks on it...my one complaint about GKMC is that the double rapping he did on some songs kind of gets old after a while...I prefer when he's just spittin rather than when he has those dubs come in over a good amount of the verse

Kendrick is doin it big in the rap game. Good kid maad city was definitely one of the best albums of 2012. Schoolboy Q is the best in Black Hippy in my opinion.

I agree with Warlock hes too mainstream sounding for me as well. I can admit when something is catchy and infectious but dont mean I gotta like it (my wife likes the cd so I sorta by default gotta jam it sometimes) what I meant by "better stuff to come" is I just think he is otw to be as big as other young artists in that similar lane like Big Sean, Drake, Mac Miller, etc. I mean damn besides wack ass Nicklemacklemore and drake not too many young artists sell 900K units.

no offense but Kendrick isn't ON HIS WAY to being as big as those artists mentioned...he is as big or bigger...his debut album sold really well he's been all over the radio (which the underground hates I know but from a popularity standpoint...dude is pretty big and especially talked about now that that verse dropped lol)...I've been following his music since the Kendrick Lamar EP and proud to see how well he's done over the years

if you think he ruined Fragile your opinion sucks lol he was a perfect fit
