This is the group that inspired Kanye's Yeezus supposedly. It is speculated that Kanye heard this group and thought, "hey, I'm going to capitalize off of this new sound and be credited for my creativity".

i always thought the noisy elements were a bit too contrived for my tastes, but there's aspects of their music i like. How was their live show?

Good, albeit somewhat muffled from all the bass, that could be a venue thing though. It was my first time there so I have no point of reference for that. They walked on stage, waved hello to the crowd, and performed for 80 minutes with no breaks, then waved goodbye. They played a lot of older stuff which was cool, and the crowd was super hype. All in all, it was pretty cool.
