": I AM VERY PROUD to announce that I AM BACK IN KORN

Korn dipped into dubstep for their 2011 album Path to Totality, but on their followup, they're shifting back to a guitar-based onslaught with the help of returning guitarist and original band member Brian "Head" Welch. This exclusive clip shows the veteran rockers laying down a winding, contemplative track in Buck Owens Studios in Bakersfield, California.

Korn Reunites with Brian 'Head' Welch

Welch last played with Korn on their 2003 album Take a Look in the Mirror, but the guitarist felt an instant reconnection with his bandmates. "We knew we would have a blast playing together, because we love each other so much, but we really wanted to make sure the music felt right before we committed to making a whole album together," Welch tells Rolling Stone. "But since we got in the studio, everything just started pouring out, now I can't wait until our fans hear this stuff!"

Korn's still-untitled album is due late summer. They'll kick off a world tour on May 15th at teh Rostraver Ice Garden in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. For full tour dates, visit Korn's website.

Hope they come here again. I saw them for the first time last year, (after what 15 years of being a fan lol) and it was a great show. 2/3 of the openers were Dubstep, which sucked cause all they did was add annoying sounds to good metal songs, and Dope DOD also opened which also wasnt my style, but KoЯn killed it...

that was why head left. he was a meth head, and the band were all doing hard drugs and he had to get away for his daughter

now everyone in the band is clean and whatnot, its time for it to happen.

Before Korn was formed, three of the original members of the band were associated with the band L.A.P.D.James Shaffer, Reginald Arvizu, and David Silveria.[20][21][22] Originally consisting of Richard Morrill, James Shaffer, and Reginald Arvizu, David Silveria joined when he was 15.[21] When the band moved from Bakersfield, California to Los Angeles, California, Silveria dropped out of high school and Shaffer stayed in Bakersfield.[23] When Shaffer reunited with the band, they found a manager and released an EP entitled Love and Peace Dude in 1989 through Triple X Records.[24][25] L.A.P.D. released their first full-length studio album on May 3, 1991 which consisted of eleven tracks. The album was entitled Who's Laughing Now.[26] After releasing two albums, L.A.P.D. broke up. They were also briefly known as Creep, recording a demo with a singer named Corey until Shaffer, Arvizu, and Silveria enlisted Brian Welch and Jonathan Davis to form the band that went on to become Korn.[27]
