Not sure if this is what you are talking about @luckynumbrxiii . I don’t really understand “consumer driven”. Does that have to do with “demand” part of the equation? Or am I completely missing the idea.

In this situation it accurately quoted the laws of supply and demand. Consumer sensitivity if the driving force to make shifts along the curve.  The intersection of supply and demand is market equilibrium (disclaimer I took Econ almost five years ago its a bit rusty)  

Consumer tastes and preferences lead to shifts on the supply and demand curve which shift things towards or away from market equilibrium.  Basically a supply and demand curve looks like this. (exhibit 1)  Consumers tastes and preferences influence both supply and demand.  It depends honestly on the product or service as they have different elasticizes.  For instance if a product has a low elasticity of demand consumer tastes and preferences (of price) will change demand relatively little as price changes.  Salt is an example of this.

Wikipedia isnt a reliable source period.  If any higher education accepts it I doubt the validity of their “education” offered.  That isn’t to say it doesn’t use reliable sources…you just have to go discern yourself if they are.
