I think Psyral was working on the forums earlier apparently a lot got messed up.

well… whoever it was that broke whatever, go back through the checklist of stuff that went wrong last time. thats all the shit thats broke and needs to be rererepaired.

Yep. Simple Press was updated and a lot broke. I think it has to do with a specific plugin. We’ve gotten some things fixed.
- You can create topics.
- You can reply to posts.
- You can edit posts.
- You can quote posts.
All those things were all broken this morning.
Still trying to figure out the private message, the image upload, and subscription to posts. Those are still broken.
I will try again tomorrow. I will disable plugins one at a time till we figure out which ones are causing issues. Attempts to update some of the plugins break the entire forum area.
@scottied and I will figure it out. The base functionality has been restored. The rest will come.

No tinkering. This was an upgrade that is causing issues with some of the plugins. And attempts to update some of the plugins completely kills the site. When I get off of work, I will work on finding which plugin is the issue. It will involve disabling them one by one till I find the one that is causing the issue. You may experience some “odd” things happening during this process so if you encounter an issue, just wait about 5 minutes and attempt again.

When I updated the Whoop plugin, it changed the rank (Floob, Scrub, etc.) to stars. I will have to fix that after I get the other issues fixed. If you hover over the stars, it will show the word rank.

Takes a lot of work. Helped run a forum for a long time man. Hated it. Thanks for your dedication though.

Private messages are working again. Not sure about the subscribe thing yet. I have never used it so I don’t even know what it does. I think I may have disabled website notifications for myself a few years ago anyway. If anyone uses that feature, let me know if it works.
The upload image feature is NOT working yet. Actually, once I disabled the plugin for that, all the issues went away. Everytime I try to update that plugin, it kills the website.
All other plugins are updated. I have not edited the Whoop plugin to change the stars back to words under the avatar on the left. I am still looking into getting the upload plugin to work and will not alter the Whoop plugin till I get that fixed. I don’t want to add any more variables to the mix till I know everything else is stable.
And for @scottied:
All the spots where I put up a Band-Aid to get the basic functionality of the forums back up have been undone. They are not necessary. Which is good since it was basically commenting out the one line where the error was occurring but preventing other little things from working:
#$tout = apply_filters(‘sph_post_editor_footer_top’, $tout, $spThisTopic, $a);
has now been replaced with the uncommented:
$tout = apply_filters(‘sph_post_editor_footer_top’, $tout, $spThisTopic, $a);

Completely un-installed and reinstalled the Upload plugin and it still causes site problems. I am going to push into the code a little further and see if I can figure out where and why it is dying when it is activated.
The Upload plugin is currently deactivated till I can figure this out. All other forum functionality should still be working.

For the last 2 days now I can’t do much on this site with my phone. Every time I log on it says the date is May 14th. All the news and top forum threads are from that day and I have to jump through a bunch of hoops to check or do anything. Does the same thing on my girlfriends phone getting to the site through Google. Not sure if others are experiencing the same but I thought I would bring it up.

Yup same here. I thought it was my phone. I gott log in on the forum cuz the site logs me out then i go back to the main page.
