I’d say that racism exists in hip hop because some people in hip hop are racist. Skin tone has nothing to do with it. There are racist people in the world, and most sub/cross sections of people will contain those that are racist.

Technically, according to many people’s “new definition” of racism, it’s impossible for people

of color to be racist, because racism is about the institutional disadvantage people of color face. These people call words and things of that sort prejudice or discrimination. Obviously this really only applies to the United States lol.
