The servers are beyond fucked up! I highly suggest you guys move to new ones. If you did that, this site would get a lot more traffic. The problem is, you click on a thread, and then you wait… and wait… and wait. Between 10 to 15 seconds at a time! This is unacceptable in this day and age of high speed internet. I am NOT nit-picking here. I’ve been coming to Faygoluvers since 2006. So I’m not new around these parts. But I know for a fact the forums are too slow and that’s why the traffic isn’t what it could be. These forums have been slow from the jump. I figured it would have been resolved by now, but I guess it hasn’t been brought to the attention of Scottie like it should have. Also, you get internel errors while clicking around on here often, like this one below me. So please guys, consider moving to a new server or just an overhaul on the forums in general. Thank you for reading.

I will say the internal server errors are driving me nuts. I’ve been getting them more so than not over the past few weeks on multiple web browsers and OS’s both desktop and mobile.
Edit: For the entire website not just the forums.

Trust me, these things stress me out more than all of you guys combined. I have some tech guys looking into the errors. It’s not the host, it’s our wordpress configuration and highly customized theme. It worked great 3 years ago, and up until about a year ago. Then we started having massive issues. It’s not something I take lightly, and if I had more time on my hands, it’d be fixed by now. I have to leave it up to those who know more about web issues than myself. I just brought on a ninja a day ago who is looking into fixing what we currently have, and then doing a major overhaul on FLH in its entirety. Will post updates as soon as I know of any.

My problem is less with the forum itself, and more with the people who are on it being slow. Is there any way you could put up a link on the main page to, like, Hooked on Phonics or something like that? If there’s a Canadian version please make putting that one up the top priority.

For those of you keeping tabs, I purchased a VPS plan through GoDaddy today, and am in the middle of transferring files right now. After the file transfers, I have to backup our massive database on our old server, and restore to the new one. I will probably take the forums down during that transfer process just so we don’t have any missed posts. Will try to make this as seamless as possible, though there are always a few hiccups. Will keep everyone posted!

Works fine for me. I often get the internal error message but then i just refresh a few times and it works. No need to get y’alls panties in a bundle, just spam that refresh button.

No wonder this place has been dead the last while.
Me thinks Ganjagoblin’s latest tinkering has gummed up the works.
Edit: it’s working a little better as I type this, maybe it was a temporary problem?

It’s temporary. something with the host. I’ve got a ticket open but even their website is lowing slow as balls. Probably maintenance or it’s being hacked. lol.
