It really is amazing how much detail they put into the little nuances of the game world. The concept is as old as stories themselves. Two groups of people who pretend to look out for the best interests of the people when they really have other plans in mind. I agree it was filled with social commentary on the class divide as well as the race divide. Little things like walking into the white bathroom and then the negro/irish bathroom. One is shiny new while the other is unkempt and worn. I think it did a great job also of building a caricature of the state of america in the early 1900's and even today.
A promise of heaven on earth with picture perfect buildings, everyone dressed nicely with no worries. Then later in the game you make it to the other side of town and see the stark contrast to what you see of the city at the beginning of the game. The paradise came at the costs of those down and out just like in real life. It really is striking when you sit and look back on it after completion. It definitely sets a bar for what a fleshed out world and story can do for a game
There's a gateway in our minds
That leads somewhere out there, far beyond this plane
Where reptile aliens made of light
Cut you open and pull out all your pain

Exactly what I'm saying, @Slumerican502
Like the dude that goes to the different dementions and steals songs from the future. That 50s rendition of Tainted Love is awesome.
In the first two both Andrew Ryan and Sophia Lamb had good intentions they just became obsessed with simple concepts.
And also the latin on everything and the the Order Of The Raven having a huge resemblance to both the KKK and the Free Masons was really cool.
Really it seemed that Comstock used both religion and the racial tention to easily manipulate the people of Columbia. A very accurate reflection of how politics work.
I don't even play video games that much any more but I had to play the Bioshock series just because of it's spectacular story telling. They always choose the perfect sound track to the games too.
And, if I remember right, the girls name is Elizibeth Lamb, just like Sophia Lamb's daughter, and they sort of build her up as some kind of savior just like the original Elizibeth Lamb in Bioshock 2. I've seen the game get beaten, but I haven't beaten it yet myself, that said it seems as though both stories are some how intertwined
