I wasn’t sure if post counts update immediately or not so I tested it. Posts counts update right away under the avatar and on the profile page but any post counts at the bottom footer are not updated immediately. I think I saw somewhere in the code that the footer is updated once per hour.
Conclusion: If you post and the count does not go up immediately under your avatar, then there is an issue with the code regarding your posts. If it goes up but then later goes back down, then that is most likely due to a post deletion.
