I was just thinking about and it seems like the next 9 months or so is looking like a pretty big lull. In the past it seems like there’s always tons of freshness to look forward to that’s been announced at this point, but barely anything this year.  We can expect Shaggy’s solo album will drop, but it doesn’t sound any progress has been on J’s.  They mentioned another KJC album but that sounds up in the air.  We’ll have Juggalo Day (but no ICP show and it’s a bitch to get to), there are no tours annouced, no ICP albums, no other big ideas, at least that I can remember.

Hopefully it’s just because they’ve been touring so intensely and once they get a break from that they’ll get to sorting out what’s coming up next.

gets quite a bit thicker if you extend to one year.  between the next gathering [which still is homeless], and the march, thats probably all the rest of the extra energy they got, right there.

touring now through hallowicked, solo albums times two, xmas, juggalo day [also times two], gathering, march.  hoodoo tour supposedly in the works.  dark carnival games con.  not expecting killjoy to happen anytime soon, but theres bound to be sumn else.  taken together, and along with all the usual day-to-day crap that goes with the biz, that would be enough to fill my work schedule for the next year, easily.

even though theres little involving releases [although, cmon, two icp solos is nice], its still damned busy for em.  not really a lull.

we got a lotta new music last year, theyre not likely to match that same output.

Some truth to that, to be sure.  Thinking back to last year, there was the Gathering and TMML Found dropping at the same time, Slaughter coming not long after, and then in the fall the TMML tour came to my area twice.  Over then the few months after that there was Phantom, Missing Link Outtakes and the fucking Ringmaster show at Juggalo Day which I was geeked enough to travel to Detroit for.  And then a couple months later the motherfuckin Riddlebox tour came to my area, and after that it was just a few more months until the Gathering.  Soooo much good shit over a 12 month span.

Over the next year though?  There’s nothing before the Gathering that I’m geeked about, honestly.  Not saying I’m entitled to it or that PSY’s dropping the ball, I’m just hoping shit picks up a little.

im geeked about xmas, but the fact that its sposed to be right up the road plays into that.

i would be geeked about juggalo day, but it sadly looks more and more like i wont be able to do it.

anyway, figure they throw out one or both of the solos; theres hoodoos tour [which i aint heard much about lately… so]; and the aforementioned xmas.  with just that much, i got a couple things to look forward to.  enough.

although, id like to hit juggalo day.

if youre like me, and you measure juggalo time in years divided by gatherings, then 2015-16 was about as densely busy of a stretch for psy since…  i dunno when.  a grip.

I’m pretty hyped for solo albums from the clowns. Despite “The Shining” overall being pretty mundane to me, I got a good feeling about the new shit. 2 Dope will come correct as well.

Yeah I’m really stoked for these solo albums to drop.  I wonder if YW has another one in the works, Slaughter gets constant re-play with me.  That album is just too fuckin FRESH.  I know its kickin a dead ass horse but maybe ABK will come out with something soon in the near future. Maybe in the first quarter of 2017 I’m thinking.

playing Native Funk for the first time in a few years.
“Rain From the Sun” is a dope album. I love the old school beats, just a dash of horrorcore, good tunes mixed with frustrated social commentary.

If you’ve never heard, the album is great front to back. Those who don’t like ABK’s slower style on Psychopathic, here is some of what James Lowery is capable of.

Boom was my jam back in the day.

As for icp: they will announce another tour as soon as they finish this one. I also expect that we get some other announcement at hallowicked.

I Imagine they are working on music because they always work on something. I would dig the killjoy club follow-up but would also just be down for something else. Something unexpected.

I wish i could go to Juggalo day. I wish i could go to hallowicked.

I’m not super hype on solos.

again, I didn’t love “The Shining”, but “Wizard of the Hood” and “Fuck the Fuck Off!” are easily in my top ten favorite PSY releases (unless I think too hard about them all, but we won’t get into that…now…)
