Okay so, does faygo like, actually taste better to juggalos? So the only flavor I usually have in my house, including right now, is cotton candy, and my boyfriend said he doesn’t like cotton candy flavoring. But then today he asked me for one. Yesterday was the E and J show, and as we drove home his mom asked if he was a juggalo now he said yes. So like, he became a juggalo, and then he started liking a flavor of faygo he didn’t even want before. Is this some kinda placebo thing where you know its the drink your associated with so it taste better? (and yes thats not what a placebo is by any means but you get what I mean, a mental effect)

I’m serious doe, anyone have this experience? Regardless of flavor specifics, did any of yall try faygo previous to being a juggalo, and then after you became one, you tried it again and liked it better?

Or do you ever feel like nobody other than your juggalo homies like faygo???

I’m in a weird tired ass mood, so if this sounds like mad ramblings its because it probably is.

Myself, i only enjoy a couple flavors of Faygo – 60/40, Cola and Moon Mist.  I bought the Cotton Candy flavor but never even tried it because of how it looks and smells, so I have no clue why I bought it.  Myself, long before I got into ICP, I had always drank Faygo due to living in Michigan and that is where Faygo is made and from

Never heard of Faygo before ICP. I guess it was a regional thing. Now, most of the hood convince stores and grocers stock it pretty regularly. I’m from the deep south, so we have our own local beverages. When I’m making groceries and I see a two liter of coke for like three bucks or a faygo two liter cola for 0.68¢, ICP does not cross my mind, my budget does, so I get a few of them.

When I get home and my kids raid the fridge for something to drink, I look at my wife and say, wait for it..and rite on que my kids start fussing saying the stuff taste like flat Pepsi….But they drink it.

The stores really don’t sell a variety of flavors though, so we stick to cola. They do sell diet root beer, but that’s sacred to me for the shows. Just the smell of it brings back concert memories. So to me, it would be 50/50, my budget and ICP that makes it so good.

I member…

When I was a lil kid, like 7 years old,  I got tired of the beverages my mom would bring home.  She offered to take me shopping with her next time to pick out something.  A week later we go to Kmart and she shows me the pop isle.

I was disappointed since I realized there isn’t anything “new” for me to try.  I get to the end of the isle and a section of brightly colored labeling hits my eyes.  It was like I died and saw “thy light”.  Of course a kid would gravitate towards it. I was in awe of the variety and the names.  At first I was like “what is Twist,  Moonmist,  red pop etc”  but was dissapointed that it was just sprite and mountain Dew. For the next few trips to the store I kept trying as many flavors as possible.

I learned that some flavors are cheap knockoffs,  but some were better than the brand name….and they had lots of unique flavors as well.  From that point on I drank red pop, orange, Moonmist,  rock and rye,  black cherry,  and Dr faygo.

By the time icp was in my life,  my love for pop dwindled.  I usually bought a gallon of dairymans tea,  since it was more volume and it was better at replenishing my body for all the activities I used to do,  ie bmx and neighborhood sports. But once I discovered Moonmist blue i had to always have a 2 liter of it.  I would drink 2 or 3 bottles a day with the homie,  we even used it to clean dirt out our wounds when we busted our ass bmxing in the woods.

We cherished the shit outta Moonmist blue and considered all other pops as something you throw at eachother,  like icp….then they pulled Moonmist blue and my pop drinking ended.  No big deal though, I was more into drinking beer/liquor by this point. I member I took the label off my last Moonmist blue and red 2 liters to show to younger juggalos when I got older and kept them in a folder,  since we figured it would never come back.

To answer the question from the original poster… Imma say that back then,  when I heard of icp finally,  they were only 10% of the reasoning to buy faygo….it was minimal,  but it was still a factor

I’d say it tastes better because it flat out is better than a lot of others. However that’s just my opinion based on what I find palatable. Jazzin Blues Berry is top tier.

I dont drink regular sugar sodas. But the store in the dispensary next to me has Cotton Candy and Rock & Rye and Candy Apple. I like to latter, but just way too much sugar to enjoy.

We once got Diet Chocolate Cream Faygo and it was the worst thing ever.

If I drank regular sodas I would drink it.

Twist tastes better than Sprite to me.  And the Cotton Candy one is good if you’re somewhere that will allow you to brush your teeth before interacting with people, because it makes it look like you gave Papa Smurf a BJ.

I like Rock & Rye but I think Big Red taste a little better. Cotton Candy is good on occasion – I only drink it at the gathering. It’s basically liquid candy. In Texas there are very few stores that carry Faygo and you can only generally get Rock & Rye and Root Beer.

I drink faygo normally only on ICP related adventures. I dont prefer it unless near a show, then i check to see what options the local beer run store carries. Ive had cola and of course diet root beer. I personally prefer a&w or dr pepper sodas.

I also have a dumb question.

What actually classifies a group as being underground? At Ballas VJ actually mentioned getting radio play, that would make them mainstream correct? Does any radio play make you mainstream or just the really popular radio stations?

https://faygoluvers.net/v5/2019/01/voting-is-now-open-for-the-9th-annual-underground-album-of-the-year/

The link here is a poll for underground artist of the year. Scroll down and there is a metal/alternative voting selection. Ive heard of all of these and half are played here on a local radio station. Their mainstream to me.
