Does anyone own or have owned any of these PC games? My motherboard fried awhile back, and my gf’s laptop can only run games up to a certain point. I’m just curious if anyone wanted to play any of these online, or if you remember them at all. I know servers like Gamespy, HEAT, MSN Gaming Zone are dead, but most can be played by direct IP or GameRanger or something else. You could also recommend some older games to me if it is not listed but is similar.

Carmageddon 1 + 2 + TDR2000 (Reincarnation is too powerful for my PC sadly)

I also noticed that LAN parties and split screen are basically dead. Kind of makes sense, since the “Facebook generation” basically kills social interaction, and so being alone in a room playing against distant people while screaming in a mic is sufficient enough. Probably doesn’t even cross their mind to play against other people through a different method. Technology simply has surpassed older methods. Another reason is probably so companies can make more money. System link still exists on a few games though. But, wanna play with friends? Buy two systems, two games, two controllers, two TVs, etc. In my opinion, there’s nothing like having 2 or 4 players in the same room and on the same screen in Crash Team Racing, Syphon Filter 3, Frogger, GoldenEye 007, WWF No Mercy, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, etc.

I’m not much of a PC gamer nowadays, but I used to dig Counter Strike LAN parties. We had our whole electronics lab in high school setup with all the PC’s chained to the server. The death of split screen is inevitable and I hate that. That’s the best aspect of certain games. I’d rather pass on awesome graphics if it meant allowing for split screen on Halo 5.

I only play Nintendo, because you can play with friends that sit with you. And you can realistically play for under an hour and have fun. Whereas, most other games are like, 20 minutes of movies or tutorials for gameplay that’s used once in the game… and it’s just a huge boring waste. And every time I turn on a console that isn’t Nintendo, it has to update for a half hour before I play.
it makes me sad how true this is.
i havent played video games since like march april this year.
between work study and making music i havent had time. and i needed room on my hard drive for music related stuff so i uninstalled all my games.
and i only really play single players anymore. mostly because the internet consists of squealy 14 year old boys. not something i need to hear when im killing shit.
give me legend of zelda, any day.

I play Diablo 3 @xanarki Im not too interested in going back in time and playing D2 or Diablo again those games were dope but dated now.
You can play some of those games you listed on Steam for a fee…Gta is an example.
You should also be able to get an Age of Empires collection on ebay for cheap. Same for Rainbow 6 I copped them about five years ago for a song.

Age of empires 3 is still a badass little game. I really enjoyed it and its expansions.
