Maybe im off my fucking rocker but something was going on last night. I was outside with a buddy last night burnin a few and we happened to look up and see a couple planes. They were both heading south at first flying at low altitudes and you could see searchlights turned on. One of em then proceeds to do a complete 180 and head in the north-north east direction. Which in itself isn't weird. But then the other plane did the same thing.

Well after that we sat outside watching over the next hour and watched. We counted 9 planes all heading south or south east flying low with searchlights. EVERY single one of them turned around after a few minutes and headed back the way they came. The first two I spoke of where in one area and the other seven grouped together at different intervals in another.

Now I know that planes fly into the wind to avoid as much turbulence as possible and often can't fly straight lines, but these planes did complete 180s! Not only that but searchlights are generally used when landing or searching, and there isn't an airfield anywhere near here. I can't come up for an explanation either for why they all would be flying so low. We both came to the conclusion that they must be looking for something. And if they were why not use helicopters?

Ive been searching other forums because I can't find any explanations and it seems that other people are observing similar things with planes and helicopters around the u.s.

Have any of you seen anything like this out of the ordinary? Hell maybe planes just always do that and I never paid attention before.......
