This shit just went down in my hometown and I thought i'd share. Anyone else with interesting local news are welcome to add in.

MOUNT WASHINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Authorities in Kentucky have charged a man who officers say had an overnight feast in a closed supermarket outside Louisville.

The manager of a ValuMarket says he found 57 empty whipped cream cans in the garbage when he arrived Monday morning. WAVE-TV (http://bit.ly/15HQ8k7) in Louisville reported 30-year-oldTrevor Runyon was charged after he was found in the ceiling of the store.

Surveillance video from the store showed that Runyon cooked and ate six steaks, washed them down with beer and then topped off his meal with shrimp and birthday cake.

Police say Runyon slipped into the store and hid while employees closed it for the night.

Bullitt County Detention Center records show Runyon is from Shepherdsville, Ky. It wasn't clear whether he has an attorney.

Lucem, have you considered this?

I work at a grocery store...and hate it when ppl huff whipped cream and leave the little caps laying around...you know the one over the nozzle...whats the point of covering your ass by throwing the can away, while leaving a bright red cap to tell ppl that there are ppl huffing nitrous in the cooler...

In short THEYRE TAKING one of MY favorite parts of MY JOB

Speed bump dispute leads to murder

Suspect is behind bars

Updated: Tuesday, 14 Sep 2010, 10:00 PM EDT
Published : Tuesday, 14 Sep 2010, 10:00 PM EDT

SPRINGFIELD, Va. (WAVY) - A Virginia man, accused of killing his neighbor over a speed bump, is behind bars.
Police said David Patton shot his neighbor Stephen Carr, after Carr petitioned to have a speed bump installed on his street in Springfield, which is in Fairfax County.

According to police, Carr and his girlfriend were watching TV, when Patton came through the front door with a gun, forced the couple to the floor, bound their hands with zip ties, then shot and killed Carr, when he tried to get free.

Neighbors said they couldn't believe it. "It's really sad. It's really unfortunate to think people can fly off the handle that much over just a speed bump," said neighbor Diane Giardina.

Police said the two got into several arguments in the past. They were even set to go to court later this week, after Patton was accused of assaulting Carr.

Springfield Groper may have attacked 24th victim in a store

A serial groper may have struck again in Fairfax County, authorities said, and for the first time, the attack occurred in a commercial business with other people nearby.

About 3 p.m. Thursday, a 31-year-old woman was shopping in the HomeGoods store in Kingstowne Towne Center when a man who was following her grabbed her and then left the business. Several passersby tried to help track down the man, but he fled from the area, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

The attacker was described as a Hispanic man who is about 30 years old. He was wearing a black jacket, light-colored pants and a black hat.

Police believe that Thursday's assault may be the 24th attack committed by one man in the Springfield area since September. Other gropings have taken place while the victims were walking or jogging outside.

Fairfax police spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell said that police hope the investigation will be aided by the fact that there were other people around during Thursday's attack.

"We're hoping that this will lead to additional information and hopefully an apprehension," Caldwell said.

That speedbump shit doesnt usually happen here either...everyone was flabbergasted when it did...the groper shit is more of a joke around here...and a couple of my hispanic coworkers occasionally get fucked with by cops on their way to work or at the bus stop...but that would happen anyway in my area

Fire guts home in Menifee

A two-alarm fire damaged a residential property Saturday in Menifee.

According to reports from the scene by SWRNN reporter Joe Fanaselle, the blaze gutted the rear portion of a home just after 6 p.m. today in the 30600 block of Pier Pointe Circle in Menifee.

The incident called for a vigorous response from the Riverside County Fire Department as flames and heavy smoke spilled from the back of the house.

Thirty-eight firefighters and eight engine companies responded to the scene.

Next door neighbor Ryan Woodward said he was in his backyard when he heard a beeping sound coming from his neighbor’s house, along with white smoke that was pouring out of the home.

Woodward called 911 as he quickly accessed the backyard to check on the welfare of his neighbor’s pets, removing a dog from the rear of the property and a cat from the garage.

Loud, high-pitched whistling emanated from the home’s closed windows and flames were soon visible from an upstairs window, Woodward told SWRNN.

Woodward fled the yard upon seeing the quickly spreading, massive flames and the patio cover collapse.

No one was home at the time of the blaze, Woodward said, noting that to see the home empty was unusual.

According to Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson, “ten residents ranging from eight weeks to 59 years of age will be displaced and the Incident Commander requested American Red Cross for assistance.”

It is not believed that there were any injuries reported and the fire was contained at 6:28 p.m.

A third pet — a dog — was brought to safety by fire crews.

This is a developing story.

Stay with SWRNN for details as they come available.

Are you a firefighter?

In 2004-06 I was a volunteer firefighter. I was working on being a medical emergency responder "paramedic but for firefighting branch". Well I was relieved of duty because I responded to a fire, their were 2 fatalities. A 9yo-5yo were burnt to a crisp on a bed that their mother was cooking meth under, on an open flame. She went to the store for beer and smokes and mean while the place went up in flames. Being as I was a EMR in training I had to clip the kids from the springs and body bag them. When the mother arrived on scene I was using an axe to tear down walls from the outside to check for embers to prevent re-kindle. She was arrested immediately and questioned. As soon as I seen her, I walked over and took a swing at her with the axe, missed and hit the police car and busted the back window out. I was arrested and charged with attempted murder but it was dropped to assault with a deadly weapon with intent to do great bodily harm less then murder. I spent a year in county and had to go through extensive psych evaluations. I can never do what I loved again. Being a hero sometimes doesn't pay off.
