Yea thats true...like most quantitative classes its a marathon not a sprint....and to answer your previous statement grade systems do vary school to school here...it is kinda wack...community colleges in my state for instance use 100-91= A 90-80=B etc.... no pluses or minutes...so my 88 would have been equivalent to someone there getting an 80...

I mean its a mixed bag....I had a stat class I woulda failed if the 70 I got wasnt a C instead of a D...classes in community college here transfer to any 4year school if its a C or better...so that D woulda cost me a n extra g to retake the class

How does that benefit anyone mathematically wise?
Nothing but a trap if you ask me. When the fuck in life do you ever have a math problem where you know the answer and need the missing number that is part of the original equation, that combines with another mysterious number, to equal the number you were looking for to begin with. That's all math really is, folks.
