Well I was listening to OutKast’s Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik in full ’cause it was released twenty years on April 26. I heavily fuck with artists who heavily fuck wit OutKast so I felt a need to pay homage. A lot off classic albums are aging, for instance last fall both Snoop’s Doggystyle and Wu-Tang’s Enter the 36 Chambers turned 20.
Either way I was thinking about this and realized my favorite ICP album turned 20 damn near three months ago. I feel bad I didn’t celebrate for it like I did for COC but I am bumping it in full now. I’m only 18 but find it fascinating to actually watch history become historic.
Like when I was 5 I didn’t actually realize the impact that 9/11 had on the US. That shit’s our Pearl Harbor.
One day we’re going to have to tell a kid about the most influential people alive today. I don’t really know where this thread is going but I’ve needed to vent this thought for a while to people who’s opinions I value.
For instance what if in ten/twenty years we’re all like “yeah that warlock dude on radio, I use to chop it up with him on the flh forum”

And we will all be like, “Thank God that Hitler had great insight and had killed enough Jews to prevent the Jewish uprising of Jews to take over the world and convert it into a Jewish world with their Jewish army, for if they had just a few million more Jews that would have bred over time to create even more Jews they could have hade a super Jew army that they planned on using to Jewify the world threw violent and devastating Jew war. But since Hitler had eradicated so many Jews in his time, the Jewish uprising has been thwarted do to the lack of Jews and their 2044 uprising of Jewdom was laughable.”
And Warlock will be the pope of Esham worship. Instead of saying amen they all just go, “mmmmm…”. And he will own a coliseum where people will battler rap…. to the DEATH! All for his entertainment.
And Lt. B will become the first Atheist president of the United States (now known as the United Nations because we will make a one world government)
And Juggalos will become so mainstream and popular that a whole new culture will arise to take their place. It will be the rebirth of the Grunge scene.

the simpsons, is like an encyclopedia of comedy.
That’s where 75% of my humor is derived from… primarily seasons 3-7.. then 2, 8 and 9. Then 1 and 10.. after that, it gets a little hazy.
I remember from the one and only “Lisa Comics”, where she goes to like an Alice in Wonderland world.. she meets a twin Otto who does palindromes. One thing he says is “no lava on no Avalon.”

possible unpopular opinion, here; but i think futurama may have the edge on the simpsons, both series taken as a whole.

Words you will never hear in any possible future:
“That was the new hit by The Warlock and Spunky Killa.”
Seriously, trust me on this one here, you will never be able to mention The Warlock to anyone outside of the FLH forums and have them know who you are talking about. He will never blow up. It’s just not going to happen. Even if he didn’t live in the desert, it’s not easy to blow up, few do. Even fewer actually deserve it. Anyways, mentioning Warlock in public is more than likely going to bring comments like “What? You mean those movies from the early 90’s? Those sucked.” You’ll be lucky to even get those.

I do trust you a little there pat. It was a joke saying what I said. Realistically Warlock will probably never reach any mainstream success. Maybe an underground buzz if he continues to improve. I love the fact that the warlock is a student of the game and am also entertained by his lyrical prowess. However I do find the warlock’s spit game a little weak, i think currently or at least on spittendope he’s over annunciating and makes it sound forced. I enjoy listening to warlock just not exactly hearing him.
Also didn’t Simpsons come out in like ’89. That’s a quarter century. There is probably a few seasons in the Library of Congress already.
After school for years every weekday I’d always watch an hour the simpson’s and thought it was the shit how every episode has nothing to do with the beginning.

Spittendope was good, I actually liked that one dude. Everything else before that was just god awful. His cockiness is what gets to me, he never thinks he can be wrong about anything. It’s just how he is. Also, I have taken to calling him “The Wizard” lately. Not like a magical being, more like that little kid from the movie that was really good at Nintendo. He was autistic or something, but man, could he give Rad Racer a run for it’s money. So that’s what I now call him, The Wizard. Nobody beats The Wiz. Nobody.
The Simpsons came on when I was in the 4th grade, which would make it about 1989. Longest running show in History. I used to watch it every night and get baked, used to tape it on VHS long before they ever sold box sets or anything. Show’s the shit, DOH!

According to the interweb, Dr. Who is the longest running (even if you exclude the years it did not air) but if you are referring to continuous running, then Simpsons wins.
[edit]
After fact checking myself it seems it depends on what you count. Shows like soap operas and games shows (Price is Right) seem to beat both Simpsons and Dr.Who.

Longest running prime time series I think.
Seriously Simpsons is a humongous part of my life.
@scruffy funniness wise, Simpsons wins. But Futurama has the awesome mind expanding plots. Shit makes you think. But its all Groening and crew, so its relative.
The episode of Futurama where Fry’s dog waits for him made my wife n friend cry helplessly. . Simpsons season 3 is full of tear jerkers too. And when Homer meets his mom again.
Pick up Bart.
