I had some nice Bose headphones for a while. After about three years they sort of fell apart, and one speaker kept ringing when it pressed against my ear. They were great while they lasted.
Now I’m using non apple ear buds. I’ve never really liked playing my music out loud, I like the clarity and intense feeling I get with head sets/ear buds. With all the concerts I’ve been to, not gonna lie, I’m starting to worry for my hearing. I really should be playing it out loud more often.

In my car: stock audio
Computer/MP3 wise: 320lbs-Apple lossless which I listen to with a pair of Sony MDR V6 headphones I got from Amazon. Not amazing sounding, but I can’t listen to apple earbuds anymore.
Lucky, how do you feel about amps for headphone listening? I’ve thought about it, but don’t know enough to know what I’m doing.

Yeah, to be honest, I can barely tell the difference between 320 and Apple Lossless (if I even can, maybe it’s in my head.) The Sony headphones have really increased my enjoyment from listening to music though. The highs hit really nice which is something that has always sounded tinny in my other headphones.

There is a difference. MP3 is slightly harsher than less compressed files. It’s why I upload my shit in the Wav form. I listen to it in MP3, but a few people hate MP3. I guess Wav is about 1411 kbps so that is a huge fucking difference. Like, 320 sounds a whole lot better than 250 so it’s no wonder why people hate MP3s compared to 1411.
If I got used to listening to music straight from the CD rather than from my Ipod I’d probably start to dislike MP3 too, but it’s like going from a good pair of headphones to a shittier pair. Hell, when ever I try out a new brand of headphones it takes a while for my ears to adjust.
I spent $200 on this pair of DJ headphones for mixing and mastering and they fucking suck for that. They bump pretty well, but the clarity is shit. I use the fucking $30-$60 ear buds instead because they are much much more clear.
Eventually I’ll order some studio quality headphones of the interwebs, the dude who engineers my shit said that I could find a good pair for $100 on the web.

Oh, and don’t buy Beats by Dre. For the love of god! Them shits are like, $20 skull candy quality with a status symbol marketing strategy.
Whenever I see someone wearing beats by Dre and listening to Pandora at the gym, I’m like, “You sorry son of a bitch. You paid $200+ for fake ass ‘professional’ headphones… and you’re listening to 64 kps streaming services.”
YES YES YES!
I swear, I tried my room mates beats, his are like $500 if I remember right, and don’t get me wrong they were some good headphones but I told him that I would not use them for studio purposes and he got pissed off. “Well, they are Dr. Dre’s headphones Dr. Dre uses them!” But Dr. Dre is a fucking producer, I don’t think he does the mixing and mastering.
Which proves that all you need to do is slap a famous person’s name on a piece of shit that was painted gold and people will actually believe it’s gold.

I don’t have room for speakers, but eventually I will move out and into my own apartment and when that happens I will definitely try to get some.
Right now I just use my Sol Republics and my keyboard for listening then I’ll bump through the DJ headphones when riding the train to work to make sure what ever I’m working on sounds good on as many things as possible.

Hey, I always get a big grin when somebody trashes Beats. Most overrated fucking headphones ever.
Like, they are more of a fashion accessory than a fucking music accessory. Just like getting those really expensive Kanye West nikes (Btw, Kanye did not name the price, Nike over priced them) you get those really expensive Dr. Dre headphones.

I think I’ve said this before, about how I listen to my music. But I usually always play CDs on a typical boombox, with studio headphones (it really does make a difference), and I usually play games while I listen. Sometimes albums I’ve never heard before I like to blaze up before hitting the play button.
AMB’s “God’s Hand”. I’ve never heard it sober. It’s probably the best AMB album IMO, and I’ve always been stoned when I listen to it. Weed just makes everything better lol.
