Only problem with Kool Herc is that he's a racist. KRS-ONE brought that up in an interview about a book Kool Herc wrote. Kool Herc doesn't recognize any white mc as a mc. But respect to him for helping create a dope culture.

hard to say ive been listening since i was hella young like kindergarden preschool status i went through a lil rocker phase for like a year but yeah idk man i guess when i started rappin at 13 i slowly started to take the shit more & more seriously as i discovered nicer & nicer emcees haha

but yeah to try & answer your question artist-wise the guys i started listening to as a kid was like proper dos, lighter shade of brown, kid frost, cypress hill etc. you know that old school latin hip hop
