We celebrate the being thankful aspect but acknowledge that the original meal was a set up to an ultimate betrayel.
It is good to be thankful for your blessings. However to ignore the historical and even present day atrocities being pushed upon native Americans is also something we should pray for and send all the positive energy and support we can. I hope one day Native Americans can live decent lives as a whole not just the ones the have assimilated to present day life.

Depends how you were raised. I am about 28% Comanche at least maybe more. My dad was about 75% native and my mom was Hispanic, white and of about 20% native.
So since I have a great uncle still living traditional lifestyles I support the people. Keep in mind there are very few full bloods left anymore.
National average is about 8-16% for people with actual documentation.
So the answer is if you care be upset if you don’t, then don’t be upset. That is your freedom.

I wasn’t really raised any way. I had a single mom that worked all the time and I kind of picked up my values from culture.
To me it all boils down to who had the better technology. Native Americans were constantly warring amongst themselves. It’s not like they were a pacifist people. Had the roles been reversed it woulda come down to the same.

There were tons of peaceful tribes that didn’t war. Really only ten tribes were warlike. That’s not bad considering there were over 100 tribes.

I was talking about this the other day with this black dude and a couple people I work with. We were talking about chappelle, and then Paul mooney. It came up that mooney was a racist to which I replied that he is just an old school cat. It fits here too. Of course he is, he is from a different time. Things are different now. Are you familiar with the standing rock protest going on currently? Taking more native land. Murdering children with attack dogs. Spraying protestors with water hoses in twenty degree weather causing hundreds of cases of hypothermia.
