What’s up party people, I just got back from ash Wednesday at church. It seems like a nice crowd in there, everybody looks like they’re more or less a good person. Then we get ashes on our foreheads, and we all look like extras in a behemoth video. It looked kind of demonic, like Rob Zombie with an X on our heads. Not bashing the church, but how is this holy? We all look like we’re about to sacrifice someone, against their will I might add. It just kinda freaked me out, can’t say church normally freaks me out. I was going to give up being an asshole for lent, but then I realized I wouldn’t be able to come on faygoluvers for a month. So needless to say, I’ll be giving up something else.

Im not religious,so I have no clue,but what is ash Wednesday and why you guys put ashes on your forehead?Just curious.

They burn the palm from palm Sunday and make these ashes. I think it’s to show repentance for our sins, I’m not completely sure, and to represent how when we die we revert back to being ashes. It also marks the beginning of lent. I’ve been going my whole life, I don’t know how to not go. At the same time, I honestly don’t know the entire meaning behind it. I’m not exactly a churchgoer myself but I always go on ash Wednesday.

My girl goes to Catholic church (I thought) and don't do that. The problem with church for me is too many variations on the same book.

I know what you mean dude. I gave up trying to figure it out a long time ago. Whenever they can’t explain something they just tell you to have faith. It’s really annoying actually. You can look up ash Wednesday, I didn’t make it up. I know it sounds weird but that’s actually what goes down.
