Not to derail the Knoxville topic, but @scruffy are you going to Ballas this year since it’s in Sauget?

Hrmm….

A couple of observations is the best I got for a “report”.

1) I guess if you weren’t at The Gathering this year, while everyone in the smoking area is yelling out chants n’shit; yelling out “Show Me Your Butthole!!!” during a lull in the din of voices doesn’t quite have the same comedic effect at a show as it does The Gathering…

2) I suppose I’m not into Mac Lethal enough to understand why he inadvertanly whipped the crowd up into a rousing chant of “PAN-CAKE”

3) It would seem to be a burgeoning faux pas to wear Psychopathic gear to a Twiztid show. There were a few Hatcheman charms but the shirt count on the same image was at about… two. Counting the FLH shirt I was wearing.

HOWEVER!!!!

4) Any kind of remaining “beef” bullshit is soundly put to rest as there is SO much Psychopathic love running throughout the show that you’d have to be an ASSHOLE to want to keep up with that shit. From one of the opening bands (Menace 2 Sobriety, I think) doing a cover of ICP’s “Homies” (which set everyone off in the room), to all the other artists talking about Juggalo shit between songs (for those that think that MNE avoids even saying the word ‘juggalo’ anymore), to the B-side surprises of Blaze’s set (aka Zodiac MPrint) and some of the songs Twiztid crashed through (I’m kinda not liking this trend of doing a few bars of a song and calling that “it”. Kinda devalues the song as though that “was all you really wanna hear anyway so…”).

5) Seeing it in person, I do not like the big Magik Ninja charm. For $50vomit It’s huge. It’s shiny (like dirty chrome not silver). And it just looks GAUDY as FUCK! Against a black t-shirt, it looks like some kind of warped medal from the Special Olympics.

6) Wasn’t feelin’ this year’s tour shirt so I bought an 8-bit “Nintendo” Blaze shirt. Love it. But then again if all you fucks that crowded up the Twiztid tent at the Gathering left anything for the rest of us, I could have gotten the whole “set” of Nintendo shirts THEN, heh.

7) Monoxide must have caught wind of the thread here discussing his “yodeling” as I made it a point to see how many times he did it. And he did not.   ALTHOUGH… I caught Blaze ALMOST do it a couple times against The R.O.C.’s bars…

8) I enjoyed Twiztid having a live drummer. Not just for stage effect/motion but because he was kind of like another silent character up there with them to interact with. He added another theatrical element that made the show more fun to watch.

9) Look… I just gotta come to terms with the fact that *I* liked all’a this shit (at the same time) when everyone was all part of the same team. I like Twiztid. I like ICP. I like Blaze. I like ABK. THAT is a fuckin’ SHOW! Now, I’m ALL FOR getting tuned in on some cool new music, but when I’m just NOT into the opening acts and I got somebody saying, “You look bored” at a show… WTF am I supposed to say or do to that? No lie, I came to see Twiztid and Blaze. Yeah, yeah, The R.O.C., HOK yadda yadda… but between the two, my money goes to Blaze. The ticket price I paid was VERY reasonable for the show I got but a LOT of it was spent hangin’ out outside with everyone else (which is always interesting) but … I’d just really like it if all the above named artists just fucked the bullshit and got back to THE SHOW. Fine, keep all yer record labels and your merch booths n’shit…. just get back to being THE SHOW. They all play the same damn towns and they all play each other’s shit that they all worked on…. FUCK THE BULLSHIT! At this point in their popularity, the order of things has nothing to do with popularity or time in the spotlight… But it’s whatever. MNE wants to promote new artists. Honestly? I’m not interested. I like Twiztid. I like Blaze. Same with Psychopathic. Hoodoo’s on an uptick with me but fucked if I feel empty at the absence of the likes of Cold 187um or even The Purple Gang.  Same with whatever you call what ABK is “doing”. Pin a rose on ya for trying to pull up some new talent but… It just ain’t congealing into anything that resembled when everyone was TOGETHER. I’m still looking for and want THE SHOW.

So don’t give me any shit if you see me at a show looking “bored”. I’m just chillin’, keeping an eye on all’a YOU. cool

Whoop Whoop! Respek to a fun night spent with a lot of out of state Juggalo homies, heh.

Oh yeah… another observation:

10) I found it curious that on the reverse side of the MNE/Lex/MPrint flyers scattered around the club had a promo ad for Whitney Peyton’s new album…

MNE supposedly has some new announcement to make….

Things that make ya say, “Hmmmm….?”.

What if Psy and MNE teamed together to put out a burger place in Detroit? You know they’d have the best beef.

She opened for them in Philly… not sure about the other dates but that may have something to do with it.

Gonna piggy back real quick.

Wanna echo two things:

No yodeling.

Very few painted faces.

Lex and Zodiac were decent enough, but I loved Mac Lethal. That dude is fuckin awesome. He climbed on some big dudes shoulders and did Pancakes in the middle of the crowd.

Twiztid set was per usual. Dope but nothing to add there.

My Ol lady took a bunch of video that I’ll try to post tomorrow.
