Why do you (asking anyone who reads this) think police, law enforcement whatever you want to call it a good or bad idea for society?

much as i tend to dislike them, having police is way better than having no police.

why?  id expect it to turn into survival of the fittest real quick, if the cops suddenly disappeared.  while that could be fun, it would also be sad to see the weak eaten.

i want to see cops split into two groups: one that has no weapons, handles investigation, reports, emergency response, speeding tickets and shit like that.  the other group rolls out like the us army and is there to arrest people and handle all the gun battles n shit.

i also want to see the jerks behave ethicly once in a while.

i also want world peace, and a pony.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

We need police, as much as I dislike them. The world would turn into escape from new york real quick. Here’s some food for thought, civilians far outnumber the amount of police officers. If the people wanted the police gone bad enough…….

about an hour ago i saw a story about that dorner guy, people protesting lapd and shit, both his problems within the cops and the way he died.

anyway, i did a quick search to see what people are saying, and the third thing that came up was slumericans dorner manifesto cop killer thread.

along with that, was about a zillion other people, from every point of view, all pissed about it.

maybe the people do want the police gone.

i dont want em gone, just restrained.

Yes police are necessary for a functioning society. Escape from new york is a good comparison for that. No police sounds fun until you have a roving squad of looter/rapists kicking in your door, fucking your wife, and taking your big screen.

Rationality (is this the correct word?) needs to be smacked back into people. Didn't he kill three people? Is our society becoming more anarchistic?

I will say one of the people he killed was the daughter of a cop. I do not condone going after families. But the man had a reason for what he did. It's hard to say what you would have done in the situation….If you get bored read the manifesto and you might understand a little better…

Don’t blame me, a lot of people have seen the warriors. People know this is true, but rounding people up and organizing everything for that would be next to impossible.

okay… i gotta say, im not exactly rational.  not sure i ever was.

yeah he killed, actually, i thought four people…?   at any rate, i [just me, here] like cop killers.  i am rational enough to recognize that that is fucked up.  but im not feeling like apologizing for it either.

two vics were the daughter of his counsel from his review board or whatever it was called, and her husband.  or something like that.  clearly the regular type of rotten murder.  cant feel good about that.

Dorner is getting shit on, not once has anyone on the news that I saw these past few days even come close to mentioning the corruption in the LAPD, or that one of the cops who beat Rodney King is now chief of police. I didn’t even know any of that until I read that manifesto he wrote, which was great by the way. No one talks about why he did what he did, he’s being made into some kind of psycho. I love the guy, he stood up for himself and for what is right. Anytime I say this other than on here, people hate me for it. People need to open their eyes.

. Anyone really think that fire was an accident? They had no intention of bringing him alive. They decided to be judge, jury and executioner. Is that any more “rational” than what he did? Idk maybe i'm not a rational person either

thats interesting, since, like i said, the interweb is crying foul.  i didnt see one return from that search that was saying, 'im so glad they finally got that scary man' or any shit like that.

accident seems like a stretch.  im of the opinion that they tried to figure out how to burn him out with plausible deniability.  'we didnt think those canisters with pyrotechnic charges would start any fires…'

If he was disgraced, him murdering people is the wrong way to go. A logical person would simply send out an explanation as to the action his former bosses took to media outlets. Killing doesn't redeem you no matter what the cause of your anguish is. We all know lapd is corrupt but dorner is still a coward.

I wasn’t talking about online, I was talking about real life. People I talk to at work, the bar down the street, shit like that.

You have a point there man…This isn't a logical world we live in. We are barely out of the woods.

To add instead of him taking physical action (the kick to the face) against another cop he should've went with the pen it's mighter than the sword.

Joker The Dark Knight PENcil trick. Those I think they're .22 caliber pens that you can fire. But murder out of revenge is a cowards way.
