The thing peeps should know about Almighty Smack is, the French love to argue.They are known for that. I took a course at Alliance Francaise last year, to brush up on my French. My teacher was from France. He was bragging about how the French love to get upset about everything. He took great pride in this fact.

If I may…

It would seem that the general consensus is that people would like the ‘thread jacking’ being perpetrated by the same few individuals that think it’s entertaining, interesting or amusing to anyone else besides themselves. In addition to that, these individuals also like to jump from thread to thread to harass *each other* further disrupting the people in those threads as well.

It also looks as though people are asking the moderators to… ya know… *moderate. Which is a title that consists of more than slapping people on the wrist for booby pics and disallowed links.

No one is telling them to be the troll police but perhaps keeping the trolling a bit more on point and at least relevent to the topic and thread going on. Going into a thread and posting page long entries that having nothing to do with anything being discussed is not only aggravating to those attempt to carry on some kind of a conversation but it makes the site look bad and becomes too much of a hassle to sift through in order to make the forums functional or worth going through.

The forums recently got a new look and design to them… how about a new standard for how they get used and are looked after? This is *everyone’s playground and a few out there seem to think or are being allowed to sit at the top of the jungle gym and push all the rest of the kids off.

An’ if you feel like I’m talking about YOU… act like ya know.

I actually wasn’t pointing any specific fingers (okay, maybe one) but not in your direction Lucem.

But to respond in kind, “derailing” as a function is what moderators are supposed to stop. Taking a conversation somewhere else as a part of debate is not at issue. What *is an issue is the “oh, people are talking? Well let me just come over and take a massive dump on your dialog in the form of a page filling ramble about anything other than what’s being discussed!”.

It’s been happening a lot around here most recently and apparently the ones doing it feel the need to defend themselves here. 

And to be sure, there is a difference between the basic trolling and the systematic thread jacking that has been going on without reproach. It’s being done by the same handful of people that like to see their name pop up and they should serioisly see this kind of a thread as cause to knock that shit off as others are obviously getting sick of it. But then again, if no one with the ability to put these few in their place choose to do so… then the forum suffers for it.

These few may find their bullshit amusing but there’s plenty of people that come to these forums that don’t bother to create an account when this is the kind of shit they read every time they come here. Yeah, drama’s fun to read when it’s relevant not interpersonal bullshit between two or more people no one else gives a shit about in the first place. I’d rather read two people arguing about SOMEthing and not the vaccuous NOTHING that’s been filling up threads lately.

I haven’t been able to participate in any conversations since a couple weeks after the Gathering because most of what’s being put up is a bunch of bullshit I have no interest in being a part of. Now just imagine how it looks to someone who doesn’t even know *any of you muthafakos!

It’s whatever but shit’s getting old and from what I’m reading the majority is done with it. Find some new material. Joke’s over.

@cheshyr I love you. This is exactly what I’m saying. Having a thread veer off topic into something else is perfectly acceptable, and expected. But personal attacks just for the sake of attacking one another shouldn’t be tolerated. There is a big difference between arguing about why you think Twiztid left Psychopathic, and arguing about how stupid another forum member is. I wouldn’t doubt AT ALL that the sheer volume of this mess is driving away people who may want to join and contribute to the forum, but they are worried of getting attacked themselves.
