True story-I fell into quicksand while jogging across the sandbars on a beach, near Vancouver,about 10 years ago.
No one around for miles.
I should be another box in that cartoon.
But I crawled out of the mud and survived.
Saw signs about an hour later when I got back near my car saying “Beware Soft Spots, keep dogs leashed near beach”.

Wow that video shows a very similar experience to what I went through.
Except the mud I ran into was even softer and I went completely under at one point.
After I struggled to safety, I lay there for a while, just laughing at how truly close I had come to buying it.
I had a 45 minute run back to my car, covered completely head to toe in sea mud.
Looked a lot like a pit ninja on Day 4 of the Gathering!

i never say this to people that i know dont believe in it already. I know it sounds i dunno up your own ass and lazy. That is if your preaching it to people that is. Kinda like when someones close to u dies and they some cliche shit u know. Buuuuuuut
The same people that make fun of this shit like with this fucken arrogance and obviously a like an anger that just gets hid behind facts and cute little phrases all rapped up in a nice bow are the same assholes that say shit like ” it happends for a reason” when ur pops just died falling apart.
I just see both sides as self obsored assholes who get all rilled up when called on. Both sides see each other as lost. Bullshit fuck that. How can u hate god and not believe in him. Fuck that. Yeah i know thier mad at what people do in the name and influence. I just hate that fucken attitude. “Oh poor u” “look at him” “if u only got to my level” . i just cant shake that shit off.
Thats why i keep to myself and only discuss this shit with people i trust. On both sides. I was the biggest fucken atheist i knew. Now i believe in a god of some sorts. No one can tell me shit. There is no argument or fact or “proof” that can push me. U know like i remeber what i would say and think as an atheist. I was there. Like i get it. Thats why im glad i was an atheist before that way im not such a fucken douchebag.
Im not really calling anyone out just my thoughts on the whole situation. But if the shoe fits FUCK it. If anyone comes at me with stuff like that stupid comic u obviously know how i feel. That is if u read this of course. I can just make a second page where everything does happen for a reason with buddy jesus all up in there and now its a fucken jesus comic. annnd thats all i learnt.
i got stuck in quicksand when i was about 8 or 9. me and a few friends were playing in the bush and i got stuck in a mud pit. was a very scary experience. we used to carry rope with us when we were kids so my friends just pulled me out by winching the roppe in a tree.
i feel ya miklo, thats a very shitty experience lol.

don’t panic is like my mantra. i used to have a rhyme book back in the day with a big dont panic sticker on it.
as for quicksand pigg, there was some about an hours walk from my house, i think thre was a burst pipe somewhere and thats what created it. i cant say ive ever come across quick sand again since then.
and congrats to canada for legalising. thats awesome.

Idk if it counts but back when we used to graffiti there were big ass water flow pipes we used to tag on the used to have big patches of quick sand/mud at their openings…I got stuck in one up to my waist one time but we had a rope ladder so I used that to crawl out…it was pretty scary…

I fell through the ice on three different ponds. Once i ran as it crumbled behind me like Indiana Jones escaping a cave boulder booby trap. Crazy shit lol.
As far as the cliché mentioned, I catch myself saying it quite often. Do I truly believe it? I don’t know. That would start up a fate-based theological debate, which I hate discussing. I will say this, however… like religion, which I overall despise, I understand that for some folks, it is all the shred of sanity that they have available. My mom, for instance… almost died from “failure to thrive” as a baby due to not being adopted until a certain stage in her development. Was gang raped later by a bunch of college jocks. Fed acid unkowingly by her husband who laughed as she fell down the stairs and went into catatonic depair. Beaten and robbed of her life savings by another man. Has a cornucopia of illnesses, mental and physical. Both breasts removed from cancer. Her first born son murdered and the killer will never be charged…. she says to me one day, “everything happens for a reason, I truly believe that. But…I still can’t figure out what it was I did or should have done to make me lose my son. I know there is a reason, I just can’t…” and she trailed off at that point. She is atheistic, and is terrified by the church-going fools and their ridiculous excuses for crazy bullshit like what happened to her in her life. Fuck Christian excuses.
